ComfortablySad 03/07/22 6:56:20 PM #6:	So for more info. Modern nukes break apart in orbit to form dozens of smaller nukes. Say a 10 megaton (1000 Hiroshimas) nuke is launched at New York. Once it gets in orbit with a reentry trajectory to hit New York it'll break apart into like 20 nukes that all spread out to hit all over New York. So even if 10 missiles are sent to intercept it some nukes will get through and kill everyone.
