One of the NPCs mentions that the HQ was modeled after Galarian architecture. Since Beni and Kamado come from a village destroyed by rampaging wild Pokmon its possible that the core group of Galaxy Team is made up of Galarians. --- Aut viam inveniam aut faciam. It's willing to not only portray Pokmon as more like living wild creatures but also incorporate that into the story.
