A quick cooldown after finishing Elden Ring yesterday. I watched Record of Lodoss War maybe 2 decades ago so I don't remember much of it, but that didn't stop me from playing through this Metroidvania style game starring Deedlit! It takes a lot of inspiration from Symphony of the Night in its character movement as well the type of melee weapons you find and magic abilities you have. The one addition to that is Deedlit can also use a variety of bows for long range combat and can switch between fire and wind affinities to absorb attacks Ikaruga style. As these games usually are it's pretty short, you can finish a 100% playthrough your first time in under 10 hours. It's a neat little game if you want to check it out, but I wouldn't say it's some amazing twist on the genre either. It sets out what wants to do just fine though.

The platinum is obtaining 100% in the map, bestiary, weapons and magic as well as obtaining S-Ranks in the bow training minigame and the boss rush. All the other trophies will pretty much pop while going for those. Very straight forward and nothing missable.

Looked up to see if the original series was streaming anywhere and it's on prime video but you got to pay for each season
