Thats a decent illustration of the double standards of elitism. The courts send countless POOR African American people to prison to for simple possession of marijuana. Then this guy causes a national uproar and diverts hundreds of thousands of dollars to investigate his hoax, which he happened to orchestrate right when racial tension is high.

The poor guy with a joint roach stuck on the bottom of his work boot goes to state prison and the guy who is related to the Vice President of the United States walks free. I honestly never expected him to go to prison anyway, though. I mostly wanted him to be forced to pay back the state for the resources they wasted on him.

Had he just said sorry the then police chief said he would have let him go.

My understanding is this guy faked a "hate crime" by hiring guys to dress like Trump supporters and pretend to beat him up or some shit, right? He was then found out to be a fake, and was found guilty of.... what exactly?

And, other than time, money, and resources used to tie all this up on the courts, wasn't this a relatively victimless crime? So, why did this become such a big story, considering calling this guy a B-List actor would be an upgrade.

Not only is he still denying guilt, but his lawyers are out there parading nonsense about how getting any time in jail at all is a gross violation of justice even if he was guilty.

Smollett was charged with six counts of felony disorderly conduct for allegedly filing a false police report. He was found guilty of all five counts related to what he told police officers immediately following the attack. The sixth count, of which he was found not guilty, related to further comments he gave to police two weeks after the incident.

Also, he would never have been charged in the first place if he admitted to making it all up at the outset, which he refused to do. Lock this bum up.

He was in one of those Alien prequel movies. That is the extent of my opinion on him.

Regardless of whether or not the defense is using political corruption to argue double jepordy...Is this a viable strat to get him off? I would think them shinning a light on what that bitch fox tried to do is the last thing they'd want.

I might seem emotional about all this, but i was born in chicago, and their history of corruption, and children getting shot dead due to gun violence is well documented.
