The gps tracking and management thereof would cost way more than the occasional replacement sign. Gps tracking wont even stop vandalism

What sort of GPS management would be required. It's not meant to stop any chance of something happening, but once a few kids get tickets, they will likely lay off.

im saying the GPS is a waste of money because it serves no purpose. Likely some local politician was bribed by some tech company

My bets on that there isnt any actual tracking on it but they are hoping that sign is a deterrent.

really if the gps was real, you could take the budget for that and halve it and allocate that as your sign replacement budget and not even use all of it and it would also cover vandalism and not just theft

You always see so many that are vandalised. Its a much bigger problem than theft, which GPS doesnt really deter anyway. Unless you read my post and assumed I literally meant no sign had ever been stole ever. Obviously a small handful would have been

Yes. Ok whatever, I guess I have to explicitly state something is a hyperbole when it should be obvious all of a sudden. Youve missed my point which is that an expensive GPS management system doesnt recoup the losses of a handful of thefts. Putting half that budget towards just replacing signs would be more efficient and cover vandalism and weather damage/accidents along with theft. Assuming they actually did gps track them and the sign isnt just a fake like some stores have fake cameras.

NDA, but even if they own the device they still pay for the service. And need people to manage it. Again when were talking about street signs, replacing them is cheaper. And GPS still only protect (not really) against one scenario but replacements cover many

You're talking with someone who is thinking that all road signs would be GPS-tracked and not just a very, very small subsection of them that are stolen in high amounts.

Again, it's why you'll generally see 68.9 signs for the 69 mile marker because it's cheaper to do that than even think about replacing 69. Again, you'll likely not see 420 signs either, but I don't think I've come across one of those signs before considering not many states are long/wide enough to have roads that can reach that high of number.

But you're better of not really interacting with Rika like I said above.
