I watched Breaking Bad and loved it. I tried Better Call Saul but the first 3 episodes did nothing for me so I dropped it. I did watch that Breaking Bad epilogue episode and it was fine I guess.

I know so many people that watched Breaking Bad but no one that has watched Better Call Saul and just less hype in general. Worth watching?

I prefer it to Breaking Bad. It's got a little more humor to it and the protagonists of all 3 main stories (Saul, Mike, Nacho) are really great.

It is fantastic. Absolutely a worthy follow-up to Breaking Bad and I can't wait for it to come back.

You can't expect it to be like BB though. It's a slower burn and a different atmosphere, but it absolutely gets tense at times. Definitely recommend watching it and sticking with it if you are a BB fan.

So far I like it better than BB. It is more of a slow burn show (especially S1) and not as action packed and exciting as BB, but I think quality wise it's a bit better. I say at least give it another chance. At least up to the episode Five-O especially if you like Mike.

Also, season 1 has Betsy Kettleman...

Absolutely worth it. A slow burn and different perspective on things for sure, but as things build up and the series progresses, you do get a lot of the same suspense and anxiety that were always there with BB.

Much like Breaking Bad, things really start to pick up in seasons 2-3.

It's an amazing show.

So does this show totally take place before breaking bad? I see a lot of characters (in youtube thumbnails) that are dead in breaking bad. Is it fully a prequel?

It does primarily take place before BB, yes. Although there are a few scenes each season that actually take place after BB. Thats about all Ill say on that.

It seems like people either love it or hate it. I dont like it >_> It's so boring and most of the time it's just dumb court drama crap. The little snippets of Mike dealing with the criminal underworld are entertaining and the whole show should've been just that imo

"BCS > BB" is mostly a CE thing. It's a great show but not quite on the same level as BB.

I don't consider it too much of a spoiler cause it literally shows you in the first scene, but basically there is a thread of teases throughout the show of what happens to Saul after BB, but the show is 99% Prequel.

And it's excellent, every bit as good, and in certain ways better. A lot of people prefer it. It's not quite as intense as Breaking Bad as often, but it does reach those heights at least a few times per season.

Nah this is a pretty common opinion among the fanbase that has watched both shows. The advantage BCS has, is they planned it better and you can tell. But only half the show is a crime drama, the other half is basically courtroom law drama. But it's all excellent.

it's pretty damn good and gets better each season. i wasn't totally on board during S1, especially the first half, but it really picks up. stick with it, i doubt you'll be disappointed.

Season 1 finale onwards is just pure genius.

Definitely better than BB overall, pending on how it ends ofc.

It has similar qualities to BB, but I think I prefer it over BB. If only just for the characters. The acting is amazing.

Also, the later seasons really ramp up in....things happening.

Lol mostly a CE thing BCS is rated higher on Rotten Tomatoes than BB.

Sequels tend to rate better because critics don't want to be wrong. A lot of critics didn't give 10s to the first season of BB because they didn't know what a hit it would be. With BCS, critics were ready to give 10s because they thought the fans would love it like they did BB. This happens with games and music all the time.

BB has a higher audience score, too.

Just Google is BCS better than Breaking Bad and you can find countless articles and forum posts making the claim that it is, its definitely not mostly a CE thing. Even if you want to argue its not the overwhelming opinion, its certainly a common sentiment.

I guess I'm the only one who liked it from the start

I had a rough start with it as well, but once it gets going, its really good. I actually prefer Breaking Bad, but BCS is still excellent. Give it a bit of time. Its worth a few initial slow episodes to get into the good stuff.

Better than Breaking Bad IMO. Season 1 is pretty slow but it gets better and better with every season. The new season coming out next week is my most anticipated of the year.
