Both have their merits, but overall, I definitely prefer crazy Daffy. The jealous, greedy, egomaniacal loser personality gave Daffy more dimension, but these traits dominated his character for half a century and not everyone infused it with charm and likeability. Ironically he kinda became a Donald ripoff, in that he was more known for his anger than his wackiness (which is tragic for a character who's literally named after crazy). It's only more recent media that THANKFULLY harkens him back to his screwball ways, but as far as his general depiction goes, I ultimately prefer a composite Daffy that balances his Chuck Jones personality with his original zany trickster ways (like in "Back In Action"). I appreciate directors like McKimson, who was always trying to keep the character fun and at least somewhat wacky even while everyone else was making him more & more of a jerk/loser. --- I don't hold grudges.
