The liberal media was cheering on the Iraq war and how Saddam needed to be wiped out and accelerationism.

otoh, the liberal media cheers on moderate non-reforms in Saudi Arabia like letting women drive.

I mean, dude, letting women drive is such a bare minimum it could be centuries before Saudi Arabia has rights on par with a normal country

Liberals weren't pro war in Iraq at all

I mean maybe the politicians were, but they basically had to be at the time

That's just a trickle down from government talking points; I don't think it's uniquely an issue of liberal media hypocrisy. The problem is that their sources (high ranking officials in the Pentagon and CIA) apply wildly different standards and principles depending on whether the country in question is a US ally.

TC, those groups are made up of different people that think differently. They don't all think the same. The sooner you understand that, the happier you'll become

they "cheered" because they were given false info about Iraq.
ask the modern liberal now, they definitely won't cheer about the Iraq war.

the cheer on driving right is because it's a progress, despite small. learning from what happened in Iraq, forcing a change when they're not ready yet will invite more problems.
also, wasn't "women and Asians can't drive" are more like conservative thing? i guess we can see the reason why some people don't like that the left is cheering for Arab women's right to drive.

A lot of people think there needed to be a response, as the war went on, people realized that it went way off the rails and became something that wasn't what they were sold.

I don't have a record of every politician's position at the time lol. But your average liberal was anti war, especially specifically Iraq. This was when liberals were anti globalization which kind of changed at some point (maybe around the time of the Arab Spring ironically)

It was much more split than you're describing here:

November 2002:
https://news.gallup.com/poll/7891/Public-Support-Invasion-Iraq-Holds-Steady.aspx
By contrast, a majority of Democrats (52%) oppose the initiative, with only 43% in favor.

February 2003
https://news.gallup.com/poll/7891/Public-Support-Invasion-Iraq-Holds-Steady.aspx

In contrast, just 22% of Democrats favor invading Iraq and say their mind is made up, while an additional 22% favor but could change their mind, for a total of just 44% of Democrats in favor of invading Iraq. The largest percentage of Democrats, 28%, say they oppose military action against Iraq and their mind is made up.

That makes this topic even more of a flopic because it just shows support for the war isn't necessarily political or tied to a party at least
