Who gives a shit? Why do these posts exist?

Yeah, it's super cringey that they love to make topics pointing out whenwvwr anyone gets suspended/warned/etc.

I made this topic a while back. It's kind of strange, like people are rooting for the failure of their fellow posters

It seems unique to this site, particularly CE. Is it a callback to something that happened years ago? Is it to draw attention to the mods as some sort of protest?

I'd love to know.

I suspect the people who make the topics are the people who reported the person. So they're getting off on their handiwork. Why else would they check up on it

I mean, it is a current event.

There was a long time ago, the prehistory of the internet before the reddits and twitters made the "account" merely a tool that the "account" was an extension of the self and your only online identity; thus the people who made of themselves a real ass were spoken of in legend as "account suicides"; attributing a literal loss of life to the loss of an account. Now these parts are filled with those who remember those days and still thrill at the words "-5 Banned".

Pretty sure it was more appreciated when it was the surprise of big name regulars and notorious users, but now that there's so many nobodies and alts pretending to be new, it's hits different. This kind of practice is much better suited for a smaller, more tight-knit social board. I know CE is a pretty toxic place, but the practice itself ain't bad.

Is it though? Isn't it better to celebrate how a man lives... than how he dies?

It's weird how they are obsessed with other users account status, all those people they talk about I have no idea who the hell they even are nor do I care, I guess they don't have anything interesting to make topics about instead

Does it? the board is flooded with them, all I see in those topics is people dogpiling on the sinner or talking about how oh no that person should not have been punished!

Because the certain user who makes said topics is a sad lonely man who has nothing else going for him besides keeping spreadsheets on everyone who he marks and tries to get moderated and making those topics.

The topics are entertaining and offer good popcorn value.

It is a CE tradition.

It's only like 2 people that make all of them.

Instead making a topic for every user, why not make a single, all-encompasing topic that covers each user? Seems way more efficient imo

Honestly those threads violate trolling rules. Email Red Ventures if you aren't happy with how things are handled here.

Its a game. The topics are designed to triger their alts into melting down and getting modded and ruining their usermaps.

This is a relatively new thing. It's only since about 2019 that these topics have become a big thing. Before that, people would only really make a topic if it was a "big" user, or if someone had been warned or banned for some particularly contentious thing, like if there was a 300 post topic with people arguing about whatever. It's such a strange thing. It wouldn't be SO strange, if it was only for reasonably well known people, but so many nobodies get their own topic. Who cares if some random person with 10 karma has been warned? What does it matter?

I cant tell you how many topics there have been about people celebrating my moderations.

Someone else said it, those threads were more interesting when it was only high profile users. Now theyre just randoms or alts of people I dont keep track of, for the most part.
