And Im fairly certain Ive seen posters post sexualized Pokemon trainers here. I really doubt most of them are adults. Same with 90% of anime characters posted here.

I know for a fact that I can't speak for everyone who was doing it when those fad topics exploded, but I know all the ones I posted were adults. I made it a point to look at canon ages

She's not a real person. Pixels and pencils lines don't have ages. Maybe not you specifically, but its weird how people can't differentiate between animated and real these days. I've seen people actually try to argue that anime or video game characters are exploited or have rights. That's crazy to me. They can't be exploited and they don't have rights, they aren't real.

Those laws became more so of a "Who is actually dumb enough to out their predator behavior using these laws at face value". You have to completely ignore that everything else points to 18 being the age, even from those states. Which I live in one that's 16 and no one ever uses that. You're following laws made in a time when grown men were still fuckin 14 year olds and probably under. And everyone was fine with it cause women had barely any rights anyway and weren't seen as equals.

7 and 9 have much larger main casts so it's more understandable that some characters would be mostly ignored by the plot

He is the vaan/penelo/Fran of his game only he isn't very good in battle either as he will always just be an inferior version of someone else.

Lulu may seem like she doesn't get a lot of focus but she does it's just all her big moments are optional and can be missed

i mentioned that earlier but this is her only moment of relevance to the story and just like vaan and penelos big moments it can be easily done without her
all it takes it a single change to make the story work without her
have a friendl viera help you through the woods. there an NPC now is as plot important as fran but less plot important than many other NPCs

taking vaan fran and penelo out of the story would require changes to make things still work
but very few changes where as if you take balthier ashe or basch out so much would need to change to exclude them the whole plot would need to be changed

Almost every RPG has character specific moments that are relevant for 5 minutes, then fall back into supporter roles. FFVI has about 1/2 the cast being largely irrelevant to the plot. Just enjoy the characters being there.

That said, FFXII would have been better if Basch and Ashe were the main characters instead of Vaan.

Her outfit was always pretty ugly to me

gameplay wise its amazing
its plot has issues
which is a shame because its plot sounds amazing on paper. you summarize the plot to someone and it sounds like it would be one of the most amazing stories final fantasy has ever told
but they didnt execute it properly so most of the plot just falls flat and the characters dont carry it either since half the main cast is irrelevant and balthier is honestly the only real standout

Not really, Penelo just seems less relevant because the person she's a stage prop for gets sidelined.

penelo does have her whole friendship with larsa thing going for her which helps connect him to the party

Ashe 1st (Vaan's only real contribution is helping Ashe escape in the beginning and that can easily be rewritten so that she just escapes without any help)
Balthier
Fran
Basch
Larsa
Reddas after Reddas dies, he is replaced by Elza who has the exact same stats and license board progression as Reddas

Canon or not, everyone is on-model regardless. So those milkers are real

She's sweet but she never does much. I love FFXII but if there was any game in the franchise that needed a direct sequel I would say it was that one. I imagine they could do a lot more with the characters who had fantastic structure to grow and toy around with and yet it doesn't pan out like that.
