Why was everyone obsessed with Let It Go?

Who the fuck knows why this shit catches on.

the older sisters song about being under pressure made me cry because it made me think about my sister and all the crap she had to deal wtih while I was growing up. It's the far better song lol.

i havent seen the movie but i listened to the song and didnt get it either

There is a lot of research into what makes catchy songs catchy, for lack of a better term.

Honestly think about musical acts you really love. How often are the most popular songs on an album they made the BEST song on the album too? I'd be surprised if it was a 50/50 split. What will be successful with radio play is really different than what is likely their best work.

Surface pressure was my favorite song.

Because its catchy.

It's the "Bruno no no no" part that makes it catchy. It's also one of the few compilation songs from Disney that surprisingly made it big.

I just finished it. I don't get it either. Movie was pretty good, but I don't like the ending with the magic coming back. It should have stayed gone, especially with its purpose already being served.

I disagree personally.

The magic didnt have one purpose it was basically the spirit of the grandfathers love watching over the town and family, and giving his family gifts, but the grandmother was putting to much importance on the gifts, and forgot that family is about love and support, not being special and gifts, as family is one of the greatest gifts. Once they learned to accept and love each other flaws and all they could better appreciate the gifts but not judge each other by them. So imo the magic going away forever would be like the love of the grandfather abandoning them forever instead of living on through them and the love they share.

Agreed I think people miss the point of the movie entirely if they wanted the magic gone at the end because the magic was never shown to be in a negative light in the entire film. I interpret the magic/miracle as a metaphor for the gifts and talents that you get at an early age. It only becomes toxic when people start to use your talents/gifts for others without taking into consideration the mental psyche for the individual, kind of like child actors back in the days. The problem was never the magic, but Abuela putting the magic over the well being of her own family.

I got Let it Go but We Dont Talk About Bruno was just ok....

The fact that the song got to #1 on the billboards when Let It Go couldn't even reach it says otherwise.

When they sang it at the oscars, it came off as very cringe. It's not a song that works outside its movie

Regarding the ending: I actually like to think that the magic at the end is new magic deriving from the love of the townspeople for the Madrigal family.

Same thing happened with Let it Go and Tangled "I See the Light", it just stopped being the flavor of the week. The only time I hear We Don't Talk About Bruno is on Radio Disney lol.

It was random as shit. They for some odd reason had Meg the Stallion rapping and had Becky G and Luis Fonsi in it, and none of them were colombian. It was absolutely a butchering of the song at the Oscars.

its crazy that I thought about this same thing today after watching the movie for the 100th time.

I've listened to the song a few times more to see if I was just missing anything.

I think someone was right when they said the song doesn't work outside the movie. Like you need the context of the movie to understand what's going on. It's not like Let It Go which can be sung outside its film just fine.

That said, I do vibe with Carmilo's verse, ngl. "7 foot frame, rats along his back...."

Surface Pressure is the best song in that move, hands down.

Followed by Waiting For a Miracle.
