rtx is the successor to gtx

so

rtx cards are the most recent, gtx cards are old

it's not

the gtx series has been discontinued and replaced with the rtx series

there has not been a gtx card since 2019, it's rtx now.

I actually did not know this. I didn't know that the 3050 and 3060 were RTX cards as well.
As you'd expect there's really no reason to upgrade from my 2070 and there probably won't be in the forseeable future.
