Full, long work day. God, that puff hit just right. My airways feel so tired, yet relieved.

...Like breathing through a straw.
It sucks.

Every little bit of energy I used made it like breathing through a pinched straw.

Ya, I grew up with it.
It's horrible.

One of my childhood memories of my Mother is me telling her I couldn't make it up the stairs.
That and her mother, my grandmother who had it as well, always checking in with that...but almost with a sense of guilt.

Somehow I outgrew it, but my Allergies are still crazy once they get going.

Why didn't you have your inhaler on you? I never go anywhere without mine. If I get an attack it's literally impossible to speak, nevermind work through a full shift.

Glad you outgrew it. I've had it since before I could remember things, and it's given me quite a fair share of embarrassing and painful memories. The changing seasons don't help it at all either. My airways act up at just the tiniest inconvenience to them.

Grabbed a dead inhaler on accident. I'm still in busy season for my company (Big 4 Auditor), so couldn't go back. Had moments where it was more of an annoyance, and moments where it was straight-up agony.

Here's what you gotta do, dude, from one asthma kid to another

Go to your pharmacy, get a new inhaler, regardless of how low your current is. Then in a few days, go again and do the same. Burn through all your refills until you have like 4 or 5 inhalers on hand.
Now just keep those bad boys EVERYWHERE. Keep one at home, bring one to keep at work, stick one in the car, if you have a spouse tell them to keep one in their bag/car, have one at your parents/family, etc etc etc...

I don't even have severe asthma, but I have 2 at home, one in my gym bag, one in my car, one in my wife's car, one in my bag, and one at my in-laws and parents each.

Neeeeever be without one, you never know when you're gonna REALLY need it.

I still have all sorts of allergies when the seasons change.
