My boyfriend and I are planning a computer / gaming room. We need a 2 person desk set up.

I found a desk style like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Tribesigns-Computer-Storage-Shelves-Workstation/dp/B0852HW8PY?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

I was also thinking of getting some flat table tops from Ikea and just having a totally flat surface and installing shelving on the wall. The issue I'm having is that we can have up to around 125" of desk. (there is 129.5" of space)

But I can't seem to find a table top that long. I think it would annoy me to have uneven table leg distance lengths if I go the Ikea route

What do you guys think? Any opinions?

I'm going to be an oddball and recommend an opposite setting, two desks facing each other - perpendicular from the wall to make a nook.

Men bond facing forward, women bond facing each other - this setting would allow you and ur boi to do both.

This won't work with the dimensions of the room and the plans we have. We are doing desks along one wall, placing a futon towards the center of the room and mounting a tv on the wall opposite the desks with an entertainment stand that'll have my video game systems on it.

so we're doing a pc/gaming/chill room. i'm also turning the walk-in in that room into a book nook with all my books and a chair.

fair enough

I was also going to recommend a triangular team desk since it can help save space... but my googling has been hijacked by like 10000000 ads from a site called Wayfair.ca, which I assume is a vendor, but, like, I never heard of them before and it's annoying.

when I was looking for a desk I found that anything great, like what I have at work, is outrageously expensive ($2000+). something affordable ends up being like what you posted: little more than a frame. (I went with that kind of desk, aiming for something as deep as possible, and also in an L shape, and it's not as good as what I have at work, but at least it's light.)

it should be possible to build something/have something built, and you could theoretically get something very simple with exactly the dimensions you want. there are some videos on youtube of custom computer desk builds. it can even be as simple as a nice finished board on top of milk crates, or something like that. but theoretically a professional carpenter or cabinet maker could do something better.

Honestly, most modern computer desks suck. I was looking for a replacement last year when work from home looked like it was going to be permanent for me, but the options are either that ugly modern look, or way too expensive (the one I really wanted cost like $2500).

I would love to have the one my dad uses. He has used it since our first computer back in 89. Only problem with it is it only supports 1 monitor. It is sad that the one I have now was the "Walmart special" back 15 years ago yet somehow supports having 2 monitors, dock, my laptop, and a printer while still having room for a beverage mouse and keyboard. Not to mention it is solid and doesn't feel like it could fall apart from a bad thought. Hell, I could even store my gaming PC on the shelf on the bottom if I had a way to use it with my dock.

Well, I think furnishings is all about tastes. I usually put together mood boards to match coloring around lighting and wood finishes (if you have any).

Yeah, they're just two table tops from Ikea. Ikea has 5 types with different sizes and these two fit perfect

I need a real desk and work chair that fits my tall legs before I destroy my spine.

I am literally laying down in my chair atm. It's not comfortable.
