Why the fuck is Dio back? Who the fuck wanted Dio to return? Also, how is Dio even a menacing threat after the shit the Pillar Men were? I'm only on episode 3 though lol. Part 1 of season 1 almost had me drop the show. Like it wasn't bad, but just wasn't really grabbing me. Decided to stick with it. Part 2 definitely grabbed me and I found Joseph to be an entertaining character. Season 2 kinda seems like a different genre of a show almost. Definitely don't like Jotaro.

Part 3 does drag on a bit. Part 4's different but it's something new and I enjoyed it a lot more at least.

Dio was very popular in Japan, so it made sense for Araki to bring him back somehow. Sometimes I think the fanservice for him can go too far at times.

Part 3 sets the tone for the entire rest of the series, so if you like it, you'll probably like the next 3 seasons

I didn't realize he was so liked. >_> He was just some asshole who was pure evil for absolutely no reason at all. The shit he did to Jonathan is insane lol. But the way he was brought back just makes no sense to me. I even had to look it up before I was so confused with episode 2 of season 1. I was like "wait...isn't that the same damn coffin that Erina came out of?????" People are saying hidden compartment, but that's so unreasonable lol. But nevertheless, I still think it's weird that he should be nothing compared to the pillar men, but maybe that gets addressed. Maybe the special bond with the Joestar clan since he has the body affects things.

Side note: anyone play any of the games? I see the Eyes of Heaven game is on sale for $9 and am wondering if it's worth it. Tried to download a demo to play when I got home, but after I got home, I saw that you can't play it on PS5 since it's a PS4 demo. Far too lazy to get my PS4 going again just to test it out.

Eyes of heaven is a good fanservice and a pretty bad videogame. It has a ton of spoilers for the later series so I don't recommend getting into it. There's a cool part 7 thing which its very existence is a spoiler and its better to encounter it in the manga.

At the end of the year, Jojo All Star Battle R is coming out which is a remaster of a more traditional Jojo fighter. That game's not the most sound fighter, but it will have online (which EoH lacks).

I think I'm ok with getting spoiled since I'm not sure I can keep watching with how Season 2 is going so far lol.

Part 2 (which I think is the 2nd part of season 1) was definitely great. I loved Joseph as lead. He had just the right amount of arrogance and playful attitude. And I loved when he would say, "Next you're going to say...." and they would say it every time and get shocked lmao.

I, too, thought Jonathan Joseph looks a lot like the character from Fist of the North Star lol. But I've never seen FotNS, so I'm sure they might seem more different to a person who is familiar with both.

But man I was shocked at the end of Part 1 when Jonathan died. I knew absolutely nothing about the anime going in, and was so surprised they killed the main character lol.

I mean if you don't like Stands, now's the time to get out.

Because it's all Stands all the time from here on out.

The fun parts are the clever ways in which Stands are used, although unfortunately (particularly in Stardust) some of those ways are just "my Stand can do this now".

It's not that I mind stands. I could get behind it. It was just a little weird how it feels like an entirely different show now. But my real problem is so far Jotaro sucks lol. Like we went from the awesomeness of Joseph to end up with someone who's just an ass in Jotaro. Terrible lead so far. I know people might say he gets better (or at least more likable or he grows you or something), but for right now, he sucks.

Part 3 anime pacing is not very good, at least not until Egypt where the OP becomes End of The World.

Jotaro is always the stoic badass intended to be the children audience's self-insert in 3. He is more interesting in 4 and 6 where he doesn't have main character plot armor.

Yeah the beginning of Part 3 is really weird. Jotaro is written like a complete asshole, which is at odds with how he's depicted for the entire rest of the series.
It's extremely out of place because as far as i remember, there was never an episode where he goes "Ah. Guess I was being a real prick. I've learned my lesson now." He just randomly stops being a rude asshole like 5 episodes in and then it's fine.

It takes a bit to get used to. Some people might even call it satire at this point. Dio is amazing though and it's all hilarious. Jotaro with grow on you soon

Part 3 has a great beginning, middle and end. The other stuff (which there's a lot of, there's 48 episodes after all) is kinda mid imo
