Or more realistically over 900. Kinda the same feeling I had when I saw 300 for the first time. All the primal screaming and big muscles makes you want to connect with your inner masculinity....or something like that. Pretty good movie. Simple story, but its mostly about the visuals and setting.

lol, nothing sexual about it. Just seeing the ultimate expression of testosterone kinda makes you go "fuck yeah". Now I want to hunt and eat meat...even though Im mostly vegan.

I want to see it but I don't go to theaters anymore, so it's streaming or home media release for me.

I saw the trailer for it a few months ago and it looked surprisingly awesome.
Then I later learned that it's by the guy that did The Witch and The Lighthouse, and suddenly everything made sense.

Yeah, her character was only there for him to realize his destiny. But as I said, the visuals, haunting music and the whole ambiance make up for it.

Im also immature when it comes to vengeance I guess

it was the first Robert Eggers movie with an actual plot even tho it felt pretty standard. i still enjoyed it tho, specially for the visuals, performances and soundtrack.

btw, ofc Bjrk had to be a crazy looking witch in this. lol

I have enjoyed all 3 Robert Eggers movies quite a bit. While this one was a bit more straightforward, it still had a lot of "real or not" moments like the Lighthouse.

Yeah this, saying that Northman increased your testosterone level kind of misses the point the movie was trying to get at. Which I'm honestly very glad that Northman didn't become just another typical Viking movie. It asks the hard questions and it's visually beautiful and the acting is on point. These characters actually look like where they would come from and don't look like cheap costume like other Viking movies I've watched. I also like there's a lot of moments in the movie where you can't tell if it's suppose to be real, fake, metaphors, etc.

With that said, the story is very standard and your typical epic historical type of movie. People said that the action scenes look good, but I thought they were alright. I've seen movies 10 times better but at least this movie lets you see what the hell is going on and you can follow it so that's a plus.

It was alright. Had some great visuals like everyone says, but I didn't think the action scenes were particularily good, and the movie felt too "simple" for me overwall. The ending was disappointing as it just seemed like the most generic and predictable way to wrap up the movie.
