Purge bad customers!

Having worked in retail when I was younger, I tend to believe "the customer is wrong" stories or websites more than I do ones where customers complain about how terrible retail workers are.

But let's be honest, both suck. And most of the people telling those stories are making themselves sound way better than they actually are.

I'm allowed to at my job. So I just tell them I'm not dealing with it and I disconnect the call.

My attitude is that people can be assholes and that sucks, but if you're taking advantage of the fact that someone has to serve you and cannot leave the area to get away with being a piece of shit, you're a special kind of asshole.

The same principle applies in reverse; I work at an assisted living facility, and my family has had people that have worked at places like this since I was a kid. If you're working at a facility where your customers can't leave and are often disabled and you take advantage of that and behave like a total piece of shit to people, there is no way faster to make me hate the shit out of you. I've had to intervene when I saw an employee screaming- full on fucking screaming- at a confused resident once. Bitch would never get away with that if she was working at a place where the person was mentally able to leave and/or complain.
