I remember thinking we were going to reach this point once all the silent and boomer generations died off, but now this doesnt look to be the case. Were regressing politically at an alarming rate and their doesnt seem to be much we can do. Democrats dont give a shit, and The GOP are getting what theyve wanted all along.

Future generations will be. This is a roadblock, not an end game.

The Spanish Inquisition came to an end.
Nazi Germany came to an end.
The Confederate States of America came to an end.

Why people want the US to become a dystopia and oppress people indefinitely is beyond me. If the Trumpers take over, we'll take America back from them in less than a decade and progress will move forward.

Boomers are still alive so that theory still has not been disproven. This is their last gasp before they die . Society may be VERY different in like 20 years or less

Political views are like the least concerning thing regarding gen alpha imo, the neurotic adults pre-kindergarten exposure to smartphones/tablets, two developmental years of COVID alienation, online oversocialization, etc. inevitably produces will be the stuff of nightmares.

That's probably small comfort to the people who lived or still live under the rule of V for Vendetta-style dictatorships. Realistically there won't be a 1984-style "end of history", but these regimes ARE a reality for a significant proportion of the population of Earth.

I think there's too much faith being placed in the arc of the universe here

Kids rebel, that's their schtick. They don't really care what they rebel against as long as they feel like they're taking hold of their own agency against a perceived system of authority.

While alt-right propaganda is a serious problem, I'm not too pessimistic about the younger Gen Zs parroting MAGA shit. This is why the GOP needs to be fought tooth and nail when they attack "critical race theory" and "emotional learning". They know that kids see this politics shit as a big laugh and that as they become more educated they'll become less likely to actually support the GOP when they get older.
