That happened to me recently. I picked it up after not playing for a while. Its wasnt too hard for me since I had recently played other warriors games. But they were things I definitely forgot that felt more unique to that warriors game

18 years later and I have never touched it again. I still think about "oh yeah I should play that after I finish x"

Very rarely as I tend to complete games I buy and play regular enough. I do however have games I've started, lost interest and I wouldn't even remember how to play anymore. Final Fantasy XIII for example. Not that I have any desire to play those again. If however I were to revisit some of my older collection of games I'd probably have to learn the controls again.

I buy a shit-ton of games (no where near as much as Delta, but a lot of games), and I'll typically play them for an hour or so unless they really grab my attention. Eventually when I get back around to playing it's pretty much like starting from scratch.

Ever not play a game so long that you forget pretty much everything about it?

Depends on the game, and depends on how much I played it.

For most games if I haven't played them in a while (and if I've been playing other games in the meantime), there's a bit of muscle-memory relearning involved as I have to re-adapt to the specific control scheme and what the buttons do. But beyond that I'm pretty good at remembering details if it's a game I've played a lot before, even if it was a long time ago.

I may not remember specific details (like which chests I put my stuff in in my Skyrim or Fallout house, or what sidequest I was doing last and what I was going to do next, or what projects I was working on in my Stardew Valley run), but I could easily drop into a new run and still remember where stuff is on the map, where specific things are hidden, etc.

I mean, I haven't played Dragon Warrior since the 1980s, yet I could probably still draw the entire map from memory, tell you where all the important things are (and the order you should look for them in to optimize monster levels), find the exact spot where Erdrick's Token is in the marsh without using the Princess' love, and so on. I'll remember boss strategies and the like.

It's really only if I was kind of disinterested in the game the first time, or if I didn't really play it all that long, that I tend to forget stuff. Like I've got PS1 games I can't remember a single detail of, but I've got Atari 2600-era games I could probably still play with my eyes closed.

I definitely understand the muscle memory part. There are many games where that is how I play. Especially rhythm games. But lots of other games, as wellThough, sometimes, another games muscle memory seems to overwrite the former games muscle memory As for details, it just depends

I did like in Fallout when I was able to connect all my chest things. That made things much easier Stardew is definitely a game Ive had to start over. I have two switch accounts. And I sometimes play things in the other account Haha But I dont mind on Stardew since I can get a new partner in those games

There are some games that Ive played so much that I remember things. Like Ocarina of Time or Majoras Mask. I kept playing at work with a friend watching. And was able to remember a bunch of random things But it depends on the game, and how much Ive played it Or certain parts of it

I definitely forget the games I wasnt as interested in But I usually dont go back to those. That said, sometimes I go back and find out I actually really love the game Just depends

Was playing Legend of Legaia on my PS1 with an ex rental copy, about half way in it shows the problems you don't want with ex rentals. Ended up ending my run there.

Until 18 months later, when I had a PSP and had worked out how to transfer my save to a PSP compatible format, along with using my PC to back up the disc (the disc drive there was a lot better than my PS2 with CDs). Of course, it was 18 months later, so beyond remembering that a village with windmills was involved in the current part of the quest (something I still remember years later), I was utterly clueless. Forgotten the map, forgotten where I was going and what I was doing, I was done.

I forgot the story of Star Ocean 1, that's why I need to replay it. At least this time I'll get Playstation trophies I guess?

I hate it when I forget stuff about the story and take too big of a break. I beat Yakuza 1-5 years ago and now I don't know WTF I'm gonna do if I ever wanna play Yakuza 6 and up.
