They talk a lot of shit about the product as if they're the worst thing in the world but they can't stop watching it. They go on about how the "old school" stuff is the best while the newer stuff is all ass and unwatchable but, again, they don't stop watching it. Any normal person who shits on something as much as these fans do would already stop giving any attention to the product.

Whenever I call out these type of fans their usual go-to defense is "I'm not complaining! I'm criticizing!" or "If I don't complain then how can it get any better?".

The question is why can't they stop watching what they hate? It's because they feel like they're singing some grand universal truth when shitting on these products when it's obvious they've just out-grown the product or the product just isn't for them anymore. It's because they take joy in hating shit, take joy on complaining all while never wanting to admit it.

As an MCU fan im just like that. I was talking mad shit about MoM but im dying to see it. In fact im literally about to see it.

Passion compels people to over-analyze things they love. I can sit here and pick apart Star Wars, Dragon Ball, Naruto, etc., but I only have so much insight into them because I love them so much.

I just got home from seeing it, and it gets so much crazier than I ever expected. But it's also fucking awesome.

Andre and Foley are practically Dragonball characters anyway.

Dragon Ball, Star Wars and WWE fans are so much alike. They all became fans of something when it was great and they were children, developed a very strong emotional connection to said thing, and despite precipitous dips in quality over the years still have a nostalgic attachment to the thing that they just can't shake no matter how bad the product gets.

It's kinda narcissistic to think just because a series no longer interests you it means the product went down to shit.

No one ever look inwards in these things. Have you asked yourself maybe you just out-grown what the product is? Maybe your taste just changed? It's just not for you anymore? Naw, it can't be you, it's everything else!
