Which one should I get ?

Before everyone and their golden retriever says Hades, I have a negative bias against rogue-likes. Just thinking about this one because of the whole frenzied irrational hype.

What do you dislike about rogue-likes?

The sense of treading water.
I did delve into Dead Cells for example, because its a very high quality game in itself. But never finished it. The sense of restarting over without palpable sense of progress, coupled with the games obligation to do it all in one go without the slightest save point puts me off.

I don't know what Chorus is but I've voted for it. Hopefully it has lots of slow walking, unskippable cutscenes, waiting, a lack of replay value and all that other PS5 goodness. No need to thank me.

Oh, you might actually like Hades then. There's a constant sense of progression due to the story and dialogue even if the normal between-run upgrades don't do it for you. It also saves in each room, so you can quit mid-run and come back to it later.

Eh, I was more thinking of actual character or gear progression than story progression. Upgrading crap to eventually make it easier to plow through, that sort of thing. Getting more hench as you go.

Yup. Hades definitely has plenty of that too.

If you like dogfighting in space, then definitely get Chorus. It's a lot of fun and the story is interesting.

Out of those three Hades is definitely the best. On another level. It does have some progression and upgrades to your moves and stats so we do feel like you are constantly improving.

The Ascent wasn't bad.... But kinda mediocre imo. I wouldn't bother with that while you have the other options.

speaking of rogue legacy.

the sequel is either ridiculously hard or they really want you to spend 100 hours to build a character to clear NG.

it took me like 5-6 hours to beat the first boss. Upgrades cost a fortune and gold doesnt drop as plentiful.
