For one, a member of my family tested positive a few days after going to a Cinco de Mayo party and they are insisting that they did not give it to me. They are playing the deflection game and I am having none of it. They are saying maybe I caught it at work, maybe I caught it in class, bullshit. They are not on my good side now because they caught it at a party and dont have the balls to admit they fucked up.

I have been super careful for years now not to catch Covid. I do not usually get sick and I like to think that I do a good job of staying healthy. Now my family member brings it into the house, I have a final on Monday, and it sucks. I feel so fucking embarrassed that I caught it because I have been ridiculously careful and it did not matter. I feel like a fucking jerk. And now that family member is like, well at least we can all socialize again and not be quarantined in parts of the house! Fuck off, I dont want to be anywhere near you right now Covid or not.

This mindset is factually incorrect. We've already seen that even mild Covid infections carry risks of heart issues, erectile dysfunction, lasting brain fog, and other serious side effects. This ignorance will put a lot of people in worse health.

If only those million dead from COVID had just drank some water and appreciated the virus, they'd probably not be dead

Thanks. Im not worried about my health. Im double vaxed and boosted. I m just furious because of the incompetence and If I am sick for this final on Monday I am so fucked.

I very suddenly had a sore throat on wednesday. Like I was just watching tv and I felt it come on really quick out of nowhere and that was my only symptom until this morning when I started coughing. Although the coughing ended today as well. So hopefully its on the way out.

If not there will be hell to pay.

unfortunately side effects after covid can still happen even if vaccinated or not.
my uncle was sick but didn't suffer anything other than fatigue and a cough for 3-4 days. no after-effects (smoker).

Yes, although these side effects are more closely associated with more severe Covid, and the vaccine makes you less likely to get Covid, and reduces severity when you do get it.

But even cases with no symptoms at all can cause long term tissue/organ damage, brain fog, personality changes, breathing issues, fatigue, etc. Covid is a serious ass illness. Just because it's not the black death and it appears to have a high recovery rate doesn't mean it's something any human should play around with.

Prepare to deal with the cough for awhile. I know everyone is different, but my lungs weren't right for a few months when I got it. I run regularly and it took me about 8 weeks before my lungs didn't feel heavy while running and the cough remained through it.

I understand your anger TC, but you shouldn't feel embarrassed about getting Covid / Omicron because you seemingly took all of the preemptive steps you could to avoid it. That person either gave it to you, or you somehow got it from something else(A contaminated doorhandle for example). It's happened to others like you before and all you can do is quarantine and avoid others until you manage to get it out of your system.

Are you sure you didnt get it from someone at the places youve been, rather than from a family member?
