Near the end of pre-Disney, Darth Vader was getting made to be a joke like in the Force Unleashed games where a fan-fiction-level character starts to trounce him like nothing.

Disney has restored Darth Vader to former prestige in scenes like in Rogue One and Fallen Order. Disney honestly has done a good job fleshing out areas of the prequels/original trilogy better than where they were at before imo. I'm glad games like Force Unleashed were made non-canon.

Agreed. I especially hated how they handled Han in The Force Awakens. (Spoilers!) I expected him to die at some point in that movie, but they killed him in such a stupid way.

Vader is weak sauce. Half his midichlorians burned up in that fire. Starkiller was basically Kratos in space. Of course he wins.

it wasn't that stupid if you familiar with anime clich, he was letting himself killed so Ben can relieve his anger so he could see the right path. but then they fucked him up in ep8. ep9 trying to get him back light side feels stupid without proper build-up.
