Just tell me your personal experiences

I'm dating for the very first time in my life right now, in my 30s (long story short: crippling gender dysphoria and social anxiety doesn't get the ladies. Especially when they all seem blindsided by you being interested).

And I can say for certain it's not easy. I'm seeing a woman who doesn't have a car but has a place (I'm the opposite) and she has an 11 year old daughter (who seems like a pretty rad child, honestly) and a battery of serious health problems. But she's so vibrant, smart, mature, inquisitive, and just crazy empathetic and understanding. She's cis but actually knows her stuff re: trans people probably because she dated a trans woman before and her best friend from childhood is a closeted trans woman and our relationship is really transparent and going great. Everyone in my life thinks she's great, and I'm def falling for her (she agrees we're dating and definitely feels strongly, but doesn't want to apply labels yet. It's pretty early in our relationship though). She's even an aesthetician, so she's teaching me a lot about makeup. We go for walks and just talk about everything and nothing. I'll stop here: I could legit go on and on. Maybe she's the one, maybe this relationship will buckle under the weight of our shortcomings: I don't know. But I'm willing to give her my heart to break.

I think my advice is that you have to throw that idea of the perfect woman/man in the trash. If you're single in your 30s, you were either terrible and/or unlucky in dating, are just coming into your own, have left behind a string of failed relationships, have a kid, have health issues, and/or are a workaholic. And so is everyone else in our age bracket.

when i was i was 19 with a 29 year old and i was with her when she turned 30. she taught me a lot. now that i'm nearing 40 i tend to gravitate towards women that are around 25.

People need to get with the times. There are plenty of single 30+ non-moms.
