It would be an online(will explain more on this in a bit) soulslike, that would have the basis general elements similar of a souls, with a combat system fairly similar at it's core to the tightly balanced combat systems of Sekiro, but with more rpg elements and a more complex skill system.

The general gameplay system would be something like this. Every player would pick a main starting class along with a main starting weapon in that class, a back up main weapon, along with 2 side classes that would offer skill trees along with the main one to start. Each of these skill trees would offer backup weapons/equipment in the form of lesser weapons from defensive stuff, to throwing weapons, to spellcasting/enchanted stuff and so on.

Sort of like: Main class>secondary class> 2 backup classes. This way their could be a large difference between everyone who picked the same main class. As the secondary and backup classes could significantly change the way the player played, with many different builds

However Players would also be able to use any weapons they might buy, come across, or win, and then incorporate that into their current class or edit/unlock their class, or change their class to a new one entirely, or different one that splits off from the current one. (for instance, a shinobi main class could start with a katana, a smaller dagger, and throwing kunai along with poison needles. And switch to something like spear, small sword, and two different types of magic)

All weapons and abilities could be switched between different affinities and types like in a lot of souls/soulslikes. As far as stats go, players overall experience would be able to be used in two different ways. To level up basic stats (strength, dex, health ect) and to level up classes and unlock skills and abilities with them. Along with all of this, players would also be able to equip armor and other typical souls stuff(health, mana, etc, while also being able to equip skills, and special abilities for their weapon/s to fight with.

The combat would work in a similarmanner to sekiro as far as in general, but still incredibly different. One where characters of all classes, builds, and so on would fight in a similar overarching system, with dodging, blocking, parrying, etc. All being very precise and with the skill and style tied to their builds, but with a huge variety of freedom and large differences between classes and characters on how that would work per player. With every player having to take on enemies differently, employ different strategies, and so on. This way, it could not only be a tightly balanced action game, but everyone would have their own way of fighting and it would drastically change how every match and fight is played.

As far as the online would go, it would either be an mmo, or have a similar layout to warframe, except with a large focus on PVP and being able to free roam much more as you play the story, all while being able to find new people, both npcs, bosses and other players to fight. An idea I very much like is that some players could apply to become bosses, and face off against other players for unique rewards for both parties and so on.

Would you play this game if it were to come out CE?

Tl:Dr A Sekiro style game where instead of everyone playing the same type of character, there's huge differences between players and enemies, with all sorts of options in making and growing a character. However, still balanced for that tight nit, precise, fine tuned action similar to sekiro. Also with online functions including PVP.

Sort of like a mix between Sekiro and souls with an emphasis on more of the sekiro gameplay style, but all or most of the souls formula for freedom.

More generally though, the class mechanics sound overly complex. Maybe it'd be simpler in practice, but the summation here makes it seem like it would be very confusing. With the focus on PvP, it'd also lend itself quite heavily towards min/maxing.

They class mechanics would probably be a lot simpler in practice. The best way I could put it would be something like the class mechanics would be half normal souls leveling, and half class based leveling. Like souls with a skill tree that the player picks as their class.

Also, PVP might not have been the best way to put it. I would like to have a lot of online for co op stuff, and definitely a lot of pvp, but the game wouldn't be nothing but pvp or anything. It's hard to explain.

I think I'm describing this not so great.

Instead of souls like, I guess a better explanation would be a game similar to sekiro, with wayyyy more choices in how the game is played, while still being that tightly balanced or close to it.

It would also have online portions, where players could play together in different ways. One of these ways that I want and find cool personally is PVP in a manner where it is set up like a boss fight.

Sort of like if in Sekiro, for the genichiro or lady butterfly fight, one player could play as sekiro and another as genichiro. And have a pvp style of duel or even boss fight like that. That and a lot of other online things based on that type of overall premise

I think it would actually be a lot of fun.
