Ugh... Ring Ring Ring was one of my favorite finds this contest, while Merciless Savior is a great song that faced much hardship and adversity to get through nominations.

I wasn't sure if Orange was completely serious in that post. My story of trying to get Nilin the Memory Hunter in is definitely one of hardship and adversity. I doubt there are many, if any, parallels between that and a four-time VGMC participant with multiple wins in each of its past two appearances.

I mean, this only affects 2 of 29 votes Just because the margin was 2 doesn't mean that explaining 2 votes for GGG explains the entire result.

In a close match, it swung swing votes. Am I cherrypicking? Absolutely.

What a pro retirement match.

Now that round 3 is over, as I did last year, I'll post my full list of round 3 song rankings with a rough estimate of ratings out of 10, rounded down to the nearest whole number. I'm pretty satisfied with it, though right now, I'm feeling like I overrated Tenement of the Blue Spirit. If I were re-ranking it, I'd probably put it around 42 or 43 in the rankings. I think that and maybe Suite Photoconductivity are the only songs whose ranks I'd consider changing.

Well, that was an 0-for-3. I'm happy for CT and for older songs in general, though.

I've gone 3/4 in both Bracket A and Bracket B, and so I'm overdue for a 0/4 in either Bracket C or Bracket D! Which will it be...? Anyway, today it feels weird having two high-rated tracks retire the same day, when the contest has mostly been going against me. I am very happy, though! Breath of Forest is probably in my top 30 vgm at this point (officially #48, but it's grown on me since then), and it's by far my favorite Mad Rat Dead music. It's nice to have a second Pokemon [Mystery Dungeon] retiree, too, even if there are lots of others I would have preferred. We should have a Sky Tower bonus match when we're finished: Blue Rescue Team vs. Rescue Team DX. If Blue Rescue Team wins that, then we know that that version is retired in spirit, as well!

Also, wow, TRFKaP was much stronger this year than last.
