i took over-the-counter omeprazole to keep it in check, but eventually cut down on drinking coffee and it completely went away in time. could be a coincidence, but things like chocolate and coffee are known to make it flare up

I take daily Omeprazole for it. (got a prescription, seriously worth it, I get 180 pills for 90 days and it's only $12 compared to the OTC prices which are outrageous)

Doesn't matter what I do if I miss a dose of that I will be in serious pain from the reflux.

Generally should avoid highly acidic foods, but never really do.

I took Nexium and it helped alot. Used to not be able to sleep on my right side at night otherwise my stomach would kill me. Now I can do it relatively easily. Cough a lot less now as well.

see the weird thing is that it seemed to just kinda happen out of nowhere, and nothing about my diet had changed beforehand either. my prescription is pantoprazole and i went to the hospital a few days ago for a really bad flare up and they gave me some pill that i can only assume is the same thing? either way it worked really well. hospital wants me to follow up with a specialist tho

The only thing that really helped when I had it is eating less overall, and especially less before bed. I got it the other day for the time in months because I inhaled a load of cookies during Eurovision.

i already drink water like a madman, in fact im like known as the water champion among my friends cause im always nagging them to drink more water than juices and sodas. unfortunately water doesnt help at all, no matter how much i drink

see like i said im not so sure its anything about my diet, cause the past few weeks ive eaten very little, in fact the night i went to the hospital i hadnt had any food at all in over 24 hours and my stomach and throat was STILL irritated. and my meal before that had been nothing but a sliced apple and a handful of crackers

no feeling like im going to throw up, just mild nausea, but i do often feel like theres stuff coming up in my throat, which probably is the stomach acid

I think it's different per person.
I can still eat spicy foods normally, but Pizza sets me off sometimes.
I take pepcid if it gets too bad. Tums for instant minor relief.

Yep

Anyways I take omeprazole I believe

I also eat less and I'm very selective of what I eat and when

Tomato products, spicy stuff, certain citrus, garlic, onions, are all things I limit or avoid entirely. And I try not to ingest any of that stuff past 7 pm.

Still occasionally wake up with my throat full of bile. Can't sleep flat anymore either. If I don't prop my whole torso up it's gonna be a bad night.

Be careful with Tums, you can get kidney stones if you eat too many of them

Or at least, that's where my stones came from, before I got on medication

I've been dealing with it off and on for years now. At one time it was bad enough that it had inflamed my esophagus so bad I was having trouble swallowing. The best thing you can do for yourself is to figure out what triggers it the worst and avoid it. Everyone has different things that set it off.

Medication wise I take omeprazole 30 minutes before my first meal and the famotidine (pepcid) before I go to sleep at night.

God the thought of this makes mine even worse.

Water always makes my acid come up more readily.

Yeah pizza tends to set it off for me the most. And i guess it isnt really much of throwing up instead of just feeling stomach stuff come up. My burps be tasting like a mix of pizza and throw up that night too.

Especially when i have it too close to bedtime or eat a lot of it.... which i always do.
TUMS doesn't really help much anymore for the bad pizza ones.

I have EOE which is linked to GERD. I think I technically have GERD too. I take 20mg Pantoprazole every day. I never really thought of myself as having reflux problems, but I did. There is clear damage in my esophagus, and before I got dilated I would get food stuck.
