us old people prefer to fix things and keep them until long after they're broken instead of buying replacements

I think you should get a new key ring or keychain

you can find them at any department store, dollar stores have them too sometimes. Some businesses even give them away like business cards

Your old key ring needs to be recycled into the system become part of an android spine or something

I'd say you're an adult once you're passed everything that's age gated... so 35 for Americans and 25 for most of the rest of the world

Hard to fully diagnose without seeing it, but if it's just one of those looped circles like most keychains are, you could always just put electrical tape around it.

Retirement and senior discounts are age-gated at 65, though. So that would push adulthood up by your system.

In fact, the option to opt out of jury duty is gated at 75, so that's even older.

definitely buy another one. keys are too important to just randomly lose. a good key ring is very tight and sturdy. there are cheap ones that are barely better than a paper clip, avoid those.

lately amazon is doing a thing where some smaller kinds of items are sold in large packs, so you can for example get 12 of them for $9 with 1 day shipping.

Yeah, but you're the one who said "you're an adult once you're passed everything that's age gated". 65 and 75 are still age gates.

If you're just going to apply an arbitrary cut off for what is "adult" and ignore anything that comes after it, your own criteria becomes somewhat useless.
