Excuse poor grammar in title, and probably post too.

Basically I feel like I was pretty self-centered in college. I still am, but I'm more aware of it. A lot of it stemmed from a period of time where I was extremely self-destructive following a break-up. I ruined a lot of my relationships at that point in time, as well as a lot of aspects of my life in general.

I've always felt pretty bad about this, but never did anything about it. I always felt like these people moved on and had better lives and that any reaching out would be primarily for me and not for them. So again, it would be pretty self-centered.

Lately though, I've been thinking about how many people might be happy about or at least unphased about my death. And its really bothered me. I reached out to an old friend that I have a semi-strained relationship with and didn't get any response.

Anyone have any ideas or thoughts. I'm guessing this is something with which I have to sit.

Live for today to create and better tomorrow or something. You can't change the past so it's futile dwelling on it.

Donate then. As for the death thing maybe you need therapy on that front. No matter what is said online it can't help you if you feel that depressed.

Those who disdain your apology bear their own grudges. You mean well to apologize which is a titan step to take, you know, so it hangs on them whether they might give another chance or not. What you can do for the present time is to: work on new relationships with uplifting others to immortalise your New Self. If you hit the same traps, you can prove you can pass on it to do the right thing for those people to respect you.

By and large, don't worry about trying to correct the past. If an organic opportunity to apologize arises, take it, but aggressively trying to rebuild bridges you've burned is just going to end up feeling forced and awkward for everyone and probably won't actually help much. Just learn from your mistakes and apply those lessons moving forward.

Most people in their early 20's and especially their teens are at their most selfish age by far. You typically mature as you age and start to think about how other people perceive your actions more.

I guess a toddler might be more selfish than a teenager, but they usually have no self awareness at all.

I doubt the average person has done even 1/20th the amount of bad things the guy from this show did. This is basically like comparing a normal person to a serial killer and telling them to make amends.
