There's just so much to do and everything has been so dramatically streamlined

The portable material refiner that's built-in to your backpack
The MUCH better base building system (and the power grid system is so easy to use now!)
The high-density storage slots in the backpack (you can basically store 9999 of any material and it can be easily expanded to let you basically store every important material in the game at the same time)
The way you can bypass story progression-related upgrades (warp drive upgrades, atlas passes, etc) simply by spending Nanites that you get from doing actually-fun things like exploring and stuff
The way the Space Anomaly is basically an instant-summon multiplayer hub with every vendor you'd ever need for anything (and every upgrade) that also has a portal system that can take you basically anywhere in the galaxy

So now, basically everyone's at the center of the galaxy and multiplayer actually happens. Bases and cities are everywhere, lots of trade and cool stuff happening.

Because it still has the crafting and customization that requires SOME effort (but a LOT less than before), it's just a lot more rewarding to play. You can build a giant cool-ass base and feel proud of it.

I took these on my Steam Deck so they're kinda blurry when blown up full size, but this game is so damn cool now.

It's kinda hard to believe how much effort they put into this game since launch... without charging for any of it.

It's become the gold standard for how to make things right.

The moon where I built my base is gorgeous

its funny, those screenshots look okay because the low res sorta hides the hard seam where grass stops rendering in even on ultra. Makes wide view shots on lush planets look like shit.

I keep waiting for it to go on sale tbh

They're from Steam Deck so they look bad because of the resolution

I like how I've installed so many efficiency upgrades that I can get like 20+ warps on a single charge, and 1,000 LY per jump.
