The police have shown at this most recent school shooting, as well as the Parkland shooting in 2018, that they are a bunch of cowards who are not only disinterested in saving your children from being shot at by maniacs, but will willingly allow these people to walk in to schools and murder your children while they stop anyone from trying to take action. The Uvalde police department has flat out admitted to lying about engaging with the shooter prior to his entry and admitted to lying about him having body armor. They were just cowards. Arm yourself.
