So, I've never been the greatest button masher in the world. Button-mashing mini-games in Mario Party were never my forte. I've found, lately, though, that I've gotten even worse at button mashing. Maybe I'm getting older, weaker, or both. I get shaky after just a few seconds of fast mashing, so I avoid those types of games entirely.

What about you? Are you a good masher?

Depends on the difficulty.

Normal and hard, I'll always pass. Ultra difficulty? That's some bullshit that I probably couldn't have even handled as a kid.

Yeah I'm the best I've ever known at it, although with the amount of games that lack Hard QTEs now I fear I've gotton out of shape.

But in Chrono Trigger I cant quite finish all the bottles in the drinking challenge at the start of the game.

I have to hold the controller weirdly, but yes. Hurts, though.

thats a tough one to be fair

Only on a Gamecube controller while using the scratch-off method on the A button (put your thumb and index together and 'scratch' the A button rapidly)

^ Same, that is the only way I could beat the torture sequence in MGS and is my preferred button mashing style.

I just put the controller on the ground, lay down next to it and mash away, its really easy with the GameCube / PS controller.

I think I used to hold the n64 controller against my chest and mash but that was awkward and I was younger, hadnt mastered the ways yet

I came into this thinking you were meaning something else. My girlfriend is a button masher, and a decent one at that, whereas I can do okay button mashing. I think I think too much to button mash in games now I'm older.

I digress onto the topic. After some practice I can be okay. I usually have to find a rhythm. I haven't played it in a while but Decathlete (Sega Saturn) is my favorite button masher. It is such an easy game to play with friends but it's not the easiest game.
