OG Top Gun is like a top 3 movie for me and this was an excellent follow up! Lots of nods to the original, awesome flying scenes, and Tom Cruise was still really good in the part. I guess my only complaint is that the Penny stuff was kinda dumb >_> It didn't really add much to the plot (I guess it didn't work out with Charlie lol)

I definitely loved the part where Maverick and Rooster have to steal an enemy F-14 and dogfight with it lol. I had a big smile on my face when I knew that was happening

And Phoenix is hot. Would fuck the shit out of her >_>

and part of me wonders if they made Iceman have cancer to cover up the fact that Val Kilmer looks like shit nowadays irl >_> I feel like they went that angle with him for that reason lol

Saw it yesterday and loved it. That tension as they are flying off to the mission was insane! Reminds me of the Death Star run in Star Wars.

Ive heard people who have seen it in 4D and say its amazing with that. Im not sure if I have any of those theaters nearby but Ill have to look into it because that would be perfect for this movie.

I agree with you on the imax part. I saw it on Dolby in a huge theater and it was awesome, I can only imagine on iMax.

Tbf thats how pilots will always approach a target defended by AA and SAMs.

Otherwise they have to bring in ground attack planes and carefully pick off anything en route to tbe target.

Yes.... but the movie follows the plot of the previous film and you may miss out on the context without it

idk, you could see it without seeing the 1st one, but you should *really* watch the original Top Gun 1st. They spoil a major event in this movie and there's so many nods to the original and continuations of minor plot points too. It's on Netflix until the 31st if you hurry.

Does it actually take place in Nevada? The real Top Gun is in Fallon now, not Mira Mesa (San Diego) like in the original.
