Seeing Avatar in IMAX 3D was a true cinematic experience, and everybody wanted to experience it.

It wasn't actually a good movie though, just a good spectacle.

How many different settings can they explore, unless they introduce another race of beings and shift it towards them?

The first two movies explore Pandora's land and sea life. It'd be too corny and stupid for them to have every biome imaginable on Pandora, so I can't see an entire film or two focusing on Pandora's desert or arctic life.

Supposedly they were filmed concurrently. So it's planned delayed releases. If it's already made, no reason that it won't eventually get released.

Sequels that come out in such rapid succession usually aren't very well-crafted.

Why wait 2 years then? LotR was filmed concurrently and they just did it one year each

I'm interested to see if #2 even does well compared to the first one. Are they marketing this another revolution of 3D or are they trying to sell it on its story alone?

I saw a preview for Way of the Water during the screening of Top Gun Maverick, so that's already set in stone.

I didn't really have any particular huge issue with this movie (it looked fancy, if nothing else), so I'm not going to rail against it or anything.

I do have a hard time seeing these sequels make the same impact the original (somehow) did, though.

Never got the hype of the first one, but that was probably due to not seeing it in theatres. I'll check out the new one in theaters if COVID cases aren't drastically high.

Thats not true. Only the second and third movie have already been filmed. The other sequels havent yet

I don't think that is correct. There is comments that if Avatar 2 fails the others will not be done.

Apparently #2 and #3 are done, and #4 is partway through filming. I still don't understand why they're spacing them out 2 years if half of them are already done
