I stopped playing for some life reason several months ago. I told myself I'd get back into it and beat it when my Steam Deck came and....now I don't remember what I was doing. I just got to the Lavtu Marshlands and Shionne is not in my party.

I vaguely remember a big revelation with Alphen and his mask, and now he's maskless.

And approximately how much game is left for me?

While fighting the 4th Lord on her boat, the 5th lord (the swordsman who jumped the party earlier) decided to show up and killed her after your party told Rinwell revenge killing was wrong. He fought Alphen for a bit and broke his mask, then took Shionne and left.

With Alphen's mask broke he started feeling the effects of Shionne's curse which basically took the fight out of her during that incident and while Alphen was unconscious he had a weird flashback that showed he was once on Legerius and was part of some experiment to become the Sovereign and paired with a girl who looked like Shionne.

Once he wakes up and regroups with the party who similarly washed up on a shoreline he angsted about his flashback and what it may have meant and had to be talked into continuing the journey but the power of nakama wins through as always so they headed to the 5th regions capital to rescue Shionne. Which is where you are now. On the way to the capital.
