This game's reveal and general art direction reminds me so much of how Sega unveiled Sonic 2006, it's almost uncanny.

Tf wasn't expecting a live premiere

This combat doesn't look very good if I'm being honest.

This game needs a whole year of polish alone.

The whiplash of looking at something as fluid and colorful of Street Fighter 6, then coming to this is...wow

Some decent ideas, but I really hope they delay this game by like a year or more.

the combat is more drawn out than it needs to be (with the exception of the weaker enemies that were shown), and the enemies don't look that interesting, IMO.

It still just looks like a fan mod. Someone on Twitter said it has big "Hire this man, Sega!" Youtube comment energy, and that's the best description for how this game looks

Sonic (Out of) breath of the Wild.

They should've gone for a more organic feel to level design. The random floating rails don't really work for open world sonic with this art style IMO. Mario can pull more of that off because it's such a whimsical series

World feels empty without the same sort of physics and clever design of BOTW world.

The movement isn't fluid enough either IMO.

It looks alright but certainly not a return to form. Just another middling "least its not 06" Sonic game so far.

Yeah I'm not feelings this. It doesn't look fun at all, looks incredibly boring and combat looks like it's a slog.

It looks pretty good graphically, I'll give it that.

I dunno, if this game insists on releasing this year, or within the next 9 months, we are definitely getting Sonic 06 2

There's probably gonna be damage upgrades and shit. Need to wait and see. Only thing I'm concerned about right now is there seems to be an over reliance on that circle shit. I hope there's a button to automate it.

I'm not heartened. The physics and Sonic's handling seem pretty good, but they're not really doing much of anything interesting with them, unfortunately.

Oh yeah, they featured prominently in the 30th anniversary music stream.

This game is gonna be amazing its gonna do for Sonic what Breath of the Wild did for Zelda.

Damn this looks so boring lol the only thing that looks good is the camera and that's super weird to say about a 3D Sonic game.

Any other 3D Sonic would have enemy variety out the ass. Here we have 3 of the same enemies basically lol

It's the parts where they need to add Sonic quipping.

Mm, I'm not really sure what to think of this. It does have a Sonic 06 vibe, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing if they do it right this time.

The only hope for this game is that this map is purely a proof of concept demo level, and they are keeping the actual game hidden.

since Sonic Team's track record has been pretty inconsistent to say the least, i don't wanna go in with high expectations.

after all, they always manage to fuck things up somehow...

im not sure i would trust Sonic Team to develop an open world game like this.

would rather leave it at the hands of a team who is actually experienced in this type of games but what do i know... lol

I'm like 99% they're just copying PSO2NGS at this point. Which is pretty good don't get me wrong but it's clear they're not starting from scratch.
