So what's the difference between the two? An ice-cream is made from milk fats while a frozen dessert is made from vegetable oil fats. Vanaspati is a hydrogenated vegetable oil used in cooking, a cheaper substitute for ghee or butter.

Unless you're shopping at a Whole Foods, or other hoity-toity 'organic' grocery stores, most lower-end grocery stores, even mid-tier restaurants will sell you non-ice cream product and pass it off as "ice cream" nonetheless.

in the US at least the word ice cream cant be used unless the product is made with milk/cream

stuff like breyers frozen dairy blah blah blah exist but they arent called ice cream and even the majority of the store brands are actual ice cream if you check the ingredients

I'm the same. When the triple whopper came out my brother was shocked when I told him that I didn't want it and that I'd rather have a single because it's made to be eaten with those ratios of bread and toppings.

He'd straight up go nothing but 3 patties ans extra cheese though. To me that's just asking for health issues. It's bad enough it's already fast food. And yeah, ice never understood burgers bigger than your mouth can bite into.

I accidently got a quadruple whopper once. It was great but I couldn't finish. Had like 2 bites left but I was fucking done.

Actually, there would need to be certain FDA approved measurements in order to still call the "cream" part of "ice cream" still "cream"....IMO, there could still be cream in that "frozen dairy product", but it would be minuscule amounts as the rest would be preservatives, filler, and whole ton more of sugar. One would have to question if you can even call it "ice cream" after all that.

Breyers is the fancy ice cream, because it uses real cream. True. But ask those shopping the bottom shelf what they're really buying.

Bacon makes you feel gross
Steak is not enough food

Both cost too much, are pretty unhealthy, make you feel gross, and don't even taste that much better than something cheaper. They'll make you fat and give you heart problems, if you ate something with rice in it you would be full with less calories.

Pizza is top tier, very cheap for the food that you get. Sushi is great if you want something healthier. Sushi doesn't have to have raw fish, it can have cooked shrimp or no meat at all and it still tastes great.

It's called moderation.

Thats dairy dessert and it has to be classified differently. If yiu look at the carton, itll say dairy dessert on the label.

I would probably say burgers. I mean, I like burgers, but it is not exactly like they blow your mind or anything like say a good barbeque or Mexican can. Heck if you are talking standard tailgate/4th of July fair I would probably say I prefer hotdogs or brats to a burger.

Yeah okay, good for you. I like a little mayo. If I ever make you a burger I'll remember that, but don't hold your breath.

What I mean is : if you are cooking burgers at home with really good fresh meat (or from a restaurant that will cook burgers to the same specifications as steak) that just the meat & cheese are excellent. Anything else added to it is just a bonus.

Sushi being on that list is definitely an example of people interpreting "overrated" as meaning "popular but I don't like it." It's certainly popular, but that popularity generally acknowledges that plenty of people just aren't going to like it, rather than trying to paint it as being better than it is.

The best burger I had was from some random midwest dinner (the midwest has a lot better meat than the west), but ultimately it still pales in comparison to a properly prepared Ribeye. I've had a kangaroo burger, as well as an ostrich burger. They were alright but are more of a novelty than something I would come back to. Bison doesn't taste too much different to beef to me tbh. I've had lots of bad experiences with lamb burgers, since it seems like chefs often over cook it.

I think all foods are overrated.

I voted big burgers because when I think big, I think of those ones folks on social media that just have way too much stuff on them. Everything else on the list is fine to eat, but burgers that are too big are just a mess and I shouldnt need utensils to eat a dang burger.

It's good but not so good there should be a bacon flavored everything and I've even seen a bacon scented cologne.

But to answer your question. Vegans and Muslims. At least those are two groups I know of that won't touch the stuff.

They aren't supposed to and they follow their dietary guidelines far better than Christians.

On the other hand maybe it's like fried chicken. I've never met anyone who has said fried chicken tasted bad. Even a vegetarian. She just didn't eat it cause she thought it was unhealthy.

We are talking in terms of overated. Bacon used to be a very cheap cut with the tenderloin being the premier pork cut. After bacon mania however, the price of bacon is often higher than a decent cut of steak, which is just absurd.

In terms of steak, the t-bone is super overated. I mean you are mostly paying for the fricken bone. Porterhouse & the Strip are from the same region and actually have some meat, porterhouse being the better of the two because you get some of the eye. Although, I would say the ribeye is better than all of them.

Porterhouse is the best steak imo, cause its two steaks

I have never seen bacon that's more expensive than steak. Unless it was like a 5 pound package or something like that.

Bacon is routinely around $6-$7/LB. While steak will ordinarily be more expensive for a good cut (I'm not talking chuck or sirloin or cheaper cuts) it often goes on sale for around $6-$7 for a ribeye, so I have seen a good steak go for cheaper as absurd as that it is.

I mean I remember when bacon was a poor mans cut priced around the same price as hot dogs now it is a premium product often priced at double the price of a pork tenderloin.

To be fair too, a lot of steak cuts are pretty expensive now. Porterhouses used to be pretty affordable, but people wisened up & they are almost always insanely expensive now. I've had good luck with bone in ribeyes, but outside at that it is slim pickenings. Heck I've seen even sirloin retail for around $7 and that is a pretty crappy cut.

Are burritos and nachos less popular in rural areas? In moderately urban areas/college towns people go insane for them....like paying 15 bucks for nachos or 15 bucks for a burrito and a small drink.

yeah..... for 90 percent of the population steaks aren't worth it IMO. I actually voted for steak on my own poll. The perfect steak is exquisite, but there are so many factors that need to be ideal for that quality (cut, freshness, quality, grilling ability). Everything else can be good at the amateur level for a quarter of the price. Don't get me wrong....steak is amazing, but the majority of steak is meh. However, fried chicken? nobody messes that up. Burrito? You have to actually try to make a burrito bad. Sushi is tough.....I almost left it off of the list because I knew everyone would vote for it, but even budget sushi with soy sauce is pretty tasty. Ice cream I expected to be more controversial since there are so many ice-cream alternatives, lactose-free, x-substitute this and that.

To be honest I made this poll before in 2014 and bacon was very under-voted. Lobster won as the most overrated, so I may not add seafood 8 years later when I make this poll again.

Some people forget the plain thin cut breakfast steaks they serve at Waffle House are often the tastiest. Quick pan fried. It's the yum. Well, it's a flat top grill, but still is similar to pan fried in taste.

As it should. Everything else can at least stand on its own and has no other easy alternative. Lobster is inferior to crab in every way (price, availability, quantity of meat, how easy it is the reach that meat, prep, taste, etc). Wouldn't surprise me if crab were healthier too.

I like lobster but Ill take crab or crayfish over it any day
