Been taking notes of my dreams soon after waking up and noticing common themes to help me take control.

Last few nights I was able to lucid dream briefly before losing it, and I have very clear memories of those dreams without having to note anything down for them.

I'm gonna try and fly tonight >_>

I had Lucid dreams waking up after 6 hours of sleeping and gouging to bathroom, then laying down and just visualizing a dream.

I imagined what it would be like in a tornado and it was a fucking crazy feeling. Thats all you can do really, visualize when your half awake. Lucid dreaming is a misnomer, its really your awake your between asleep and awake and you can tap into the dream ability but be conscious aswell.

^As a lifelong lucid dreamer, I am quite certain that I am very asleep when I dream.

I used to have lucid dreams without even trying. Unfortunately, I would always wake up within moments of realizing that I was in a dream.

I'm very good at lucid dreaming.

Flying is hit or miss for me, and the misses are just... not having much control while flying, especially trajectory. Building and stabilizing large structures is another thing that is pretty tough and requires a lot of practice. General stability I've learned pretty well. When I feel a dream destabilizing, I usually just stop trying to do anything or focus on anything and just let the dream run its course. Usually it will restabilize after what feels like about 20-30 seconds. Sometimes things will have changed, but I just go along with it.

ahh.. the state you are experiencing is hynogogia:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypnagogia

Yes! That state is more easily influenced by your conscious mind. However it is never as freeing as true lucid dreaming (which I also have experienced). During dream-state it may become difficult to distinguish dream from reality (despite having lucid control over it).

Some of my favourites have been:

  • flying
  • raising landscape and altering terrain
  • summoning giant trains and flying to them to ride around

When i was a kid I had a recurring nightmare about the house I lived in being haunted. I dunno how many times I had it exactly, but it was enough that I started to register when I was in the dream at a certain point at it by looking around the room and realizing stuff was there that shouldnt have been.

At first I used it to realize I needed to wake up and it would force me awake but eventually I started to be able to like, choose what to do in the dream and try different things. I don't think I was ever fully in control of everything like I see people talk about in lucid dreaming guides and stuff, but I would be conscious that I was dreaming and attempt to move around the house in different ways and different stuff would happen.

I've never had anything else like that that I can remember. It was like it was halfway to being a lucid dream where I could tell I was dreaming and choose to do things but freaky stuff was still happening outside of my control

Be sure to look at your hands. Also, whenever you want a change of scenery or experience just think about what you want and a door, you will find both
