Early on the chiseled, handsome, badass leading man shows up and is labeled "Hero" and is described as having a "pretty fucking good" life expectancy. He is then immediately decapitated by monsters. Then his wife shows up and gets labeled "Heroine", a role she takes on for most of the movie until she is unceremoniously killed off near the end when she's accidentally shot.
