Well, he's the current Governor of Maryland, my state. He currently has no more terms left so he cannot run again. Seems to be either favorable or neutral to LGBT individuals due to not making any laws against them. Sounds like a nice guy.

He's a fat fucking RINO who somehow got cancer and came back more fat. And he took the Democrat response to COVID-19, which was frankly more of an excuse for him to do press conferences and appear in the national spotlight than anything. Made sure to announce the start of COVID restrictions RIGHT BEFORE RUSH HOUR! I walked out of my retail job's back room and thought I'd stepped into Black Friday. Except even more chaotic, because we actually plan for huge crowds on Black Friday. Wasted a bunch of money on COVID tests that as far as I can tell never got used.

It's more that I suspect he knew about it before he got elected than anything else. Like, it was really soon after he started that his term that he announced he had to take a leave for it.

I guess "get elected to public office and get free healthcare" is as good a plan as any.

Oh, and people acted like he was going to shut the whole state down, well, the same people that needed something every day were still coming in. Which you can chock more up to people being dumb than him, but it does make a point to me that the people acting like they wouldn't be able to leave their houses really over reacted.

Grant was the toughest post Civil War president on the South. I think its fair to say he could of did more, but he did much more than any other president.

Grant's legacy for a long time has been smeared by South's Lost Cause Myth that essentially characterized him as a drunk moron.

My understanding is the drunk moron part of his life was after the Civil War, and he also had money issues.

Either way, the South shouldn't really push the "Drunk moron" angle too hard given he kicked their asses. If they got beat by a drunk commander what's that make their commanders?

He personally used his troops against the KKK and would have taken them out permanently if the North didn't rally against him because they thought he was trying to be a dictator.
