You should try! The fairy loaner deck looks decent enough to steal a few wins (or at least, it did against me. >_>) And even then, there are a number of cheap ways to make festival decks. Invoked is (still) good, Tenyi is relatively cheap, zombies have a lot of support that go with anything, people are running trap decks and timelords. If you felt like it there're definitely options if you want to grind gems. ^_^

Meanwhile, I tweaked my Pendulum deck and have been having good success with it. The sheer number of ways to bring out Vortex, Baronne, or both gives it a really strong turn 1. The Odd-Eyes monster help beat over Mechaba and Winda. The magicians are an amazing resource generating engine. I'm happy with this so far.

I am tempted to put Ash and maybe Maxx C back in, but for the festival they seem pretty low-impact after the first turn, so at 1-each I'm not even sure if they're worth it as crossout targets.

Handtraps alone can take up like 10 or so depending on how many you put.

My usual took 13 (down to 10 because no duplicate).

Oh, like I was saying, maybe experiment with removing Ash/Maxx for a few duels and replacing them with extra consistency/combo cards and see how it gets you. In like ten games I've had them resolved against me once each and neither one really mattered.

Ah, maybe you are right, I don't really mean stacking handtraps @ 1 each lol.

If you see my deck above you will find that the only 'handtrap' are Maxx C and Ash (not seen are the PSY-Frame Bricker package).

My 'usual' refers to how I grouped things like HFD, Imperm, Droplet, or Raigeki into one group.

This event is really fun, but I still haven't ran into a mega degen deck yet. Hurray for gold rank

So now that we have a new Duel Pass, what URs are you guys eyeing to use that CP on? I'm thinking of a set of Triple Tactics Talent. >_>

Yeah this event is amazeballs. I'm seeing a lot of different decks in Platinum (though it seems Invoked, Despia, Shaddol, and Dogmatika are really popular) and I'm loving every second of it. I managed a 12-game win-streak and snagged the Shard mate, this is the absolute best I've ever performed in this game, I feel great. Pendulum lessss gooooooooo!!!!!!

Maaaaan I kept forgetting that using Rokket Tracer/Synchron's effect locks you into Dark monsters.

Also just had a duel where I kept getting stalled (and I misplayed lmao); it doesn't help that they negated my Striker Dragon but won in the end.

People do be carrying many handtraps. That match I saw Maxx C in the opening hand (the prime cause), Effect Veiler, DD Crow, & Guardian Slime (I consider this a handtrap in a sense).
I dreaded that the opponent actually Called by'd my Hieratic Seal or PSY-Gamma'd my Borreload, but thankfully it didn't happen.

I dunno honestly. SR CP would most likely go to Dragon Shrine to make Flare Metal turbo easier, but apart from that (and maybe a second Hieratic Seal) I'm not sure. Immortal Phoenix Gearfried is enticing but still iffy.

Fun event, this is literally the first event where I went to 5500 points on the first day I'm playing the event since there are so many surrenders from people who bricked, limit 1 on everything really put a massive halt on consistency lol

10 duels, 7 losses. My pathetic attempt to make U.A.'s still work failed, back to the drawing board.

And then my attempt at a Danger Kaiju deck loses 6 of 10, with one of the wins being my opponent misplaying and surrendering before I can even do anything. I already hate this event.

I'm 5 for 5 with somehow 3 Starlight Road activations (literally won me the game in all 3)

Went onto ranked for some dailies. Adam player took the Maxx C challenge.

...then resolved Maxx C on my turn. >_>

Then I resolved Maxx C again on their next turn. <_<

Used Draco Berserker's banish on one of their hand summons trying to bait the Kaoki Maru negate (I really wanted to resolve Nib lol) but they let it go through. But either way they scooped after that.

Tl;dr: Im about to build fucking Yosenjus just to get the Normal Summon mission done quickly lol

How do you splash Eldlich on Dragonmaid? Just him (and summoning him via Dragonmaid S/T or WL Guardragon), or him + some Eldlixir?

And I'm trying to think of a way to make use of Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon on Dragonmaid but it's so roundabout way I'm not sure if it is worth it.

I really wanted this reptilianne deck to be useable. I liked the archetype, but I have yet to draw a usable hand.

Reptilianne pure just doesn't work that well, esp in a 1 of event. But if you see their link and synchros and all the broken Reptile supports, there's clearly something there that you can take advantage of. But this event ain't it

Also I'm 10 for 10 on wins in the singleton event, and I activated Starlight Road 2 more times.

I guess when a card is probably one of your favorite cards in the history of YGO, it shows up often and it shows up clutch. Anybody who might know how I play would never play a multi destruction card if I'm just laying shit in attack mode for no reason lul.

Also nobody reads with Windwitch engine does and just wastes destruction spells on a single non-destructible Crystal Wing.

I'm really liking my deck, that's for sure.

This event sucks. I cant win for shit and its making me angry, and when I get angry, I get toxic. So I have been looking into annoying cards to add to my No Fun Zone gravekeeper deck. Keep getting crushed by harpies feather duster and lightning storm so I added in a starlight dragon and some starlight roads. Now I welcome any destruction cards lol

I see no point in playing this game anymore I rather buy the mate than grind for it. I have all the decks I want and more than enough materials to create cards I don't even want or need. Rank is pointless unless I want more gems which I don't want/need. This game needs more than just gems and materials. I'm sure those bits we see will eventually go away and will only show up for events and even then we won't get as much as we have in the past.

Starlight Road is basically the best card ever when it works. If you have any negates or backrow on the board, you know they're eager to get rid of as many as fast as they can. Once you trigger Starlight, it's just over. Stardust comes out to negate even more destruction, and they're not playing anything else through your negation.

Of course the big mfing 3000 atk guy that protects face down destruction is also great.

I built my deck to use as many good URs that I have as possible, so yeah lul. If I didn't have such wants, I'd put more Kaijus and Sky Striker stuff in there.

Several of the extra deck guys aren't even necessary either. I'd put Auroradon in there if I owned him, but I don't want to craft for satan so.

Messing around with Harpies and Zombies in the festival.

The Harpie deck is mashed together with Tribrigade and Zoodiac. Even in this format it can make absolutely degenerate turn 1 boards but my favorite thing is having a field full of bird girls attacking for game. >_>

For zombies, getting a 5K atk KotSS out is surprisingly consistent but he baits removal like a motherfucker so I havent gotten to swing for game yet lol. Doomking and GoldDaddy do most of the work.

Dude went first, set two pass.
Dude flipped Macro Cosmos in my turn, rendering me unable to do shit.
Dude plopped a Gren Maju. Then the 2nd Gren Maju next turn.
I begged to Osiris to give HFD. I topdecked the thing.
After sacrificing 2k LP for Anaconda to fuse for Slash Dragon leaving me with 600, I OTK dude with 3 Red-Eyes (DMD, Slash, OG) on board.

So much for shying away from Anaconda. Its venom is sweet. It reels me back.

I don't Malefic. Though I met one during Synchro Fest back then.

It's just I need Malefic Red-Eyes for an easier Flare Metal summon (at least when the situation present itself anyway).

Just learned Performapal Monkey board was finally unbanned in TCG, its about time... but Heavymetalfoes is still banned, ridiculous! And there's still no Odd-Eyes link monster.

Tell me about it. My only card gained from a succcessful Maxx C first hand is an Ash.

And in one occasion, in a true PSY-Frame fashion, the Driver bricked my first hand.

Ranked in low Platinum is starting to look pretty diverse. Just fought a Dragunity and a Trickstar player.

Dragunity was actually a really close duel where we both ended up using all our resources. I was losing the whole time but Supreme King Clearwing, with its board wipe and pre-battle insta-kill/burn saved the day.

Trickstar almost had me. They flipped Ojama Trio, which is a chad af move and normally would've clogged my board and prevented pendulum plays...but Masquereena cleared that up real quick. Then I brought out Baronne and they scooped. >_>

I don't think hand traps are like that great in the limit 1 fest. You should run them, but not more than like 4-5 copies. Plays simply don't happen as long or often, and the end board is far less threatening in general.

It's better for you to make a bigger play on turn 2 than it is to try to disrupt them turn 1. Those hand traps could be like a few more S/T removal or Kaijus or something.

Then again, it's not as if I'll claim people around my rank are playing perfectly, and I've benefited quite a bit from misplays or obvious baits people bite into. But maybe it also kinda has to do with my deck being turn 2 oriented, which imo is better in this event because you get to work with 1 more card, which is huge in a limit 1 format

I think Maxx C isn't that great to run either. You're drawing like 1-2 cards majority of the time. Kind of a waste, though some might think of it as a consistency engine by itself

Whoever drew and resolve Maxx C first hand against me would be extremely happy because I took forever to just establish a board consisting of 3.6k Borreload Savage with 2 counters.

(It in fact happened).

On another note, Magic Cylinder (and its launcher) as well as Mirror Force are a good deterrent to me in general. Got hit by 7k Cylinder. It hurts.

Yeah the only festival deck I even run Ash in is zombies since she can occassionally help trigger Doomking.

I think Maxx can still generate a lot of value against festival decks but it's much less valuable if you draw into it after turn 1. In a saccy top-deck game I'd rather draw into Droplets or Raigeki or something lol.

At least in Dragon Link a dead Maxx/Ash can still help with Dragon Ravine/1-for-1 discard.

Or link fodders if I haven't used my normal summon lol.

Edit: those hole traps are scary and I dread going 2nd being ara-ara'd by Traptrixes.

Swordsoul is still prominent in Platinum but for me the ratio seems to be about 50% Swords, 25% Despia, 25% everything else

At least, Im in Plat 5/4 and that seems to be the case. I think a large amount of people who care about rank climbing have made it to high plat/diamond by now.

I played Synchron badly (like my 1st turn endboard is just Cosmic Blazar with nothing else), ate Maxx C without negating it, and this Invoked-Shaddoll player (who fusion summoned their DPE with Shaddoll Fusion) scooped via cutting the internet after they saw my Blazar yeeted itself despite being Droplet'd moments ago.

Blazar is really good.

Am I the only one who enjoys playing against Swordsoul? Its far better than the Drytron/Tri-Zoo meta that was dominant before.

SwordSoul is fun its just sort of boring to play against after the 5000th time lol.

I even got sick enough of playing it that I only break it out for the occassional daily >_>
