It turns out she had a baby but didn't want to ruin your life and so didn't tell you.

A mutual contact accidentally let it slip and now you suddenly find out of the blue that you have a child and have had one for years

Well isn't she a cutie pie! I'll see how old she is and get her that many gifts for missed birthdays.

Being that Im sterile, I move on with my life and assume theyre not mine. If the mother wanted me in their life she could have, and still can bring it up. Then Ill expect a test.

but this happened

I only ever had 1 girlfriend and it was back in the late 90s. My kid would be in their 20s

But I would be very confused because I never had sex. I'd wonder if my memories are all twisted and somehow I got laid as a teen and forgot. Then I'd tell the offspring to go back to their mom cause I barely know how to take care of a cat let alone be a dad

I would love the child unconditionally and want to be a part of their life.

That is a legit concern of mine. The last time I had any contact with an old girlfriend there was a pregnancy scare.
