When I was younger, I feel like a lot of them did. A lot of the time, you could even mute the commentary but keep the subtitles for them on, so you could listen to the the movie uninterrupted. I remember Pirates of the Caribbean was a weird exception where you couldn't seem to do that no matter what.

I don't buy many movies, but those I have don't really seem to have anything like that. Is it just that I happen to be buying the wrong movies, or what?

That's a shame for sure. You could probably find a lot of similar information by scouring the internet for interviews and such, but I liked how often the commentary seemed to relate directly to the scene that was playing. And the fact you were watching something at the same time.
