Currently rank 558 on the Kindle store. Book 2 peaked at rank 93, and I don't know if Book 3 can do quite that well due to some delays that happened between B2 and B3, but it's had a mostly-good start so far. Fingers crossed!

ASBR = Kindle ranking. Kind of absurd how similar both are. You can really see the guiding hand of the algorithm at work.

I hire artists because I can't draw. The writing, editing, marketing, advertising, and publishing processes are all done by me.

Broad strokes at the start, plan more as I go along, leave room for improvisation as necessary. Was originally going to be three books but fantasy creep happens way too often.

I took a long break after Book 3 which helped a lot. Definitely feeling the hints of burn out creeping, though. I still really care about the story and will make it as good as I can, but staying on one project for a long time is draining.

Funny thing is I actually find it easier to stay on one project. Once I leave it, I can't come back to it. I wrote one series for like 8 years, and I haven't even contemplated returning to it since. During that whole time, people were telling me I should try writing something else, and I told them once I stopped I wouldn't come back.

What made you decide to end it and move to something else?

It'll be the natural endpoint of the story, essentially. It's not the kind of series that can go on forever.

If only Amazon had BARRIERS

Amazon has a bunch of weird foibles. Like how a book's position on the Top Fantasy listing will change before the Kindle number ranking on its actual product page. Or how, every day on 10 PM EST, a book's internal page read metrics will jump up for no reason.

It's no Kefka, but it keeps me entertained.

When do the movie adaptations come out?

Funnily enough, I somehow got Book 1 included in the 'Movie and TV Tie-Ins' book subcategory. Pretty sure it's still there.

Last time I asked, KamikazePotato said there wasn't one. But, maybe that has changed!

Speaking realistically, I'm not even close to the most popular fantasy LitRPG on the market. I'm in the upper echelon, but there's big names to tap before adaptation-hunters would think of me. It's a relatively new market that has yet to be exploited by Hollywood.

He Who Fights with Monsters, Defiance of the Fall, Primal Hunter, Bastian, and Aster Fall are series that off the top of my head get better numbers than mine. LitRPG is a rapidly growing market and you have to understand that there are TONS of books on amazon. If I'm in the top three percentile, that still leaves a lot of room for people to be above me. And as fun as screenshots like the one above are, it's not like that lasts. I'm not beating Harry Potter after another week passes.
