I am loving lots of things about iOS. Losing my android game purchases is a bummer and I miss the Pie Control app for instant switching between apps but this is great.

also i bought ghost trick so maybe its time to finally play it

The idea that Android devices never become obsolete is laughable. They absolutely do, if not literally, then atleast functionally. As an app developer that works on both iOS and Android apps, I've had to countless times dig through legacy code to rip out and/or rewrite code that no longer works in new Android versions, which often times will break things for older versions. You're literally at the mercy of the manufacturer, pretty much all of them cut off support after a few years, and only recently have they actually started to get close or match Apple's standard.

You're either being incredibly generous with the definition of "works," or very dishonest if you're trying to argue "I can turn on my 10 year old Android device and it works" with a straight face.

You know you don't have to exit all your apps right? iOS instantly pauses all your apps as soon as you swipe from the bottom. You can have 10 apps open and it would not slow down your phone.

Yeah i know. But pie control is a different type of convenience bc you can designate which apps (or actions) are instantly available at a swipe.

After a couple days, Apple Maps is proving surprisingly more convenient to use for driving. Coming from a years-long Google maps Pixel/Chromebook owner.

Alright, I have to admit one thing about Apple Maps.

Having it turn into a globe if you zoom out far enough is a pretty neat feature.

That's pretty sweet! I'm still a fan of Google Maps, and I've been using iPhone for 6 years now. I have trouble with the Maps UI when I'm trying to navigate step-by-step directions and I find it more intuitive on Google Maps. Plus, I'm just used to it at this point.

I don't use Safari or Mail, I use Chrome and Gmail. But I traded in for a flagship phone at the right price years ago (and more than once by now) and it does everything you need a smart phone to do.

I was firmly Android > iPhone a decade ago, back when it mattered and there were good reasons to use Android. Now it's a wash, although I prefer iPhone. I think that making life easier for my family with iMessage group chats and FaceTime with top tier battery life is enough of a reason to use iPhone.

Note: When I got my current device, it was one of the top performers for battery life per GSMArena. I do not know which devices are currently top of the line for battery life.

Speaking of Apple apps, the Apple weather app having radar built in now has totally changed the game for me, lol. I havent been surprised by a storm in months.

I'm not usually someone who is bound or opposed to certain brands, but I absolutely will never buy an Apple product.
Same. Apple phones suck. My parents have them and I have to help dumb people at work with them often. So I'm pretty familiar with them and they are not easier or more intuitive at all. Also gotta correct the person who claims iPhones are way more popular, that is not true anymore. Last I checked Android/Google phones had just passed them, I think it was close to like 60/40. Also saying that having a ton of apps open in the background of iPhone doesn't slow it down is just straight bullshit as well.

WHY THO.

Why they suck? What specific thing are they doing differently that you don't like? If you stole my phone today and gave me the newest Galaxy device with all of the same chargers, I doubt anything would be different at all!

I guess I would need whatever smart watch works with that device, too.

I just find everything to be so obtuse. Like how you do things on android feels logical whereas on apple, it's a guessing game a lot of the time.

I agree. When I want weather, I have to guess whether I want to open the app named Weather, the app named Calendar, or the app named Clock. Its so obtuse!

Please be more specific. What kind of things do you try to do on an iPhone that you find obtuse?

Having switch from Android to Iphone a while ago...

Apple has had a really mixed bag with music - stuff like the ipod was a game changer, iTunes is a total mixed bag, MP4s, not allowing Siri to open Spotify for a long time, filling in missing Apple Music songs if you own the MP3, automatically pushing an awful U2 album to people... no reason for this to have so many misses. We can lump the headphone jack in here as well.
