I cant see them not be. PlayStation is Personas home and I dont think any game in this show has listed PlayStation even if it was something likely multiplat

Well Starfield certainly looks like a BGS game.

So Starfield is just space Fallout.

I mean, nothing is blowing me away right now more than any other looter shooter except they have put a lot of care into their world.

The facial animations look great

There's is nothing to indicate there's any reason to care about this if you don't care about Fallout. It's basically the same game.

This doesn't look like a new IP from the Fallout team.

This looks like Fallout: Space, the spinoff.

Well in the case of Fallout the combat is very different from The Elder Scrolls combat as is the traversal. Starfield seems to have very similar combat to Fallout.

The space combat looks really good. Thats like the worst aspect of No Mans Sky (still).

To answer your question, I was expecting something that at least looks like it would play a bit differently. The combat is likely to take up the majority of the game and looks like same ol' Fallout style with nothing new tacked on, and it actually feels like a step back.

Anyway, they have a lot put into this game but I dunno. It seems overwhelming to me and a time sink I can't get into, especially if the majority of it will be generic looter shooter stuff.

Overall, a 3/5 presentation to be honest. Definitely some good stuff on there, the Persona and Kojima reveals were awesome. But very little I need that game TODAY moments for me.

I think Starfield looks great, I think anyone saying its literally Fallout in space! as a surprising negative is just being silly lol. It was announced as a shooter in space, what else could it be??

I think the Starfield showcase definitely ended a lot stronger than it started with the flying and highlighting all of the environments. It looks a lot more varied than Fallout, and you would hope Xboxs oversight would mean fewer bugs. Its also going to be on GamePass day one. So it is a very good proposition combat aside.

Like my feeling with Starfield is that the rest of the game looks great. I don't need to waste time making ships and colonies and stuff and I don't have that time investment, but sure. It's cool. The best part was clearly the spaceship combat. Big ups.

But the majority of it seems to be this boring, derivative looter shooter combat, which I don't think is even remotely interesting. The fact that it's bound to take up most of the game is not great and I hope that they can figure out how to improve it before launch.

Overall, it's a game that's not for me because the ambition is too broad with building customization bits that I would never want to bother with. I'd probably play it if it wasn't so huge, honestly. It's weird.

The procedural generation was the worst looking part of Starfield. Hopefully the story's good at least.

Yeah the direction that Starfield is taking is confusing to me. Don't people play Bethesda games to explore the world AND find cool stuff? Exploring 1000 planets is definitely not going to have the cool little side quests and unique stuff that you'd normally find exploring Skyrim or Fallout right?

Maybe the story worlds will have cool things to find but those 1000 planets feel pointless unless you're just exploring to explore.

Prefacing Starfield with "one of the most anticipated games in Xbox history"......is it really? Like I get it, next big IP from Fallout/Elder Scrolls studio but I can't say it feels like it's being THAT highly anticipated even with that pedigree, if anything it feels like it's not quite living up to those levels of hype given that pedigree.

And yea it looks like expanded Fallout in space, which I don't think is a negative or a bad thing. I'm sure it'll be fun, it's just funny that they seem to be trying to hype it up as a next mindblowing game experience.

D4 is coming out as a full price game built strictly for PC/console audiences. The game is huge & there will be tons of content after launch for all players. Paid content is built around optional cosmetic items & eventually full expansions. We will be sharing more info soon!

Because it's a genre?

I mean the dude was running and gunning and then pulling out random loot from boxes. That's why I was saying it was less interesting than Fallout which has always felt to me less action-based.

I'm aware it's a genre, I just didn't realize we're retroactively putting any game with loot into into it.

Right, but I was saying that the combat was a derivative looter shooter style, not that the game is. It clearly isn't, but the combat and exploration on the ground seems it's that more than the next step in the Bethesda format.

How would YOU describe the combat?

Like every other fps I guess. But I'm not big on fps so I don't really know what makes one better than another. Like it does look a lot like Fallout but without the VATS system. I don't remember, did it show off any kind of abilities?
