This is extra fucked up and everyone involved one the official side needs to be disbarred and/or jailed. Literally raped the mother, got her pregnant, raped their daughter, and was awarded full custody of the daughter with the mother ordered to pay child support. Words cannot express how huge a miscarriage of justice this is. Thankfully it might be going in the right direction but my heart absolutely goes out to the two women who have been abused by this monster

JFC. This whole ordeal, just gets more horrifying the more we learn about this. Both Barnes and that judge should be thrown in prison.

The dude raped the mother then he raped the daughter when she was the same age. Holy hell toss that dude under the prison and put the judge and the pd along with him!

The problem with cases like these in particular is that the law is bizarrely strict regarding "acting in the best interest of the child" over any other piece of information that would complicate it.

I've always disagreed with these kinds of rulings, but they're surprisingly common.

The most notable thing about this case is that it's only being investigated to the point that it is because of the media exposure. Without it going viral, the case would have likely gone nowhere, and would have ended with the dad having full custody and no consequences. Media really does have a lot of power.

Christ, that update was the one thing I was afraid was going to have happened. Of course the rapist would also rape the daughter he had. Probably wanted sole custody so he could have total control of her...

The judge and rapist both need to share a 4x4 cell for the rest of their lives.

I'm seeing someone who has to meet her physically abusive ex-husband every week to hand over their toddler, because the police did nothing about her case.

He also verbally assaults her on the regular over text message, but all she can do is keep a record of the texts because the police can't/won't do anything unless there's an outright violent threat.

Honestly this stuff is so common. Most people don't get happy endings in these cases.

I used to work with a woman that was going through something similar. She'd regularly meet with her abusive ex whenever she had to exchange their daughter. Only whenever they would he'd be physically abusive to her still and she couldn't get help from the police because the dude lived in an extended family home and his relatives would always back him up when the police got involved.

Over time the abuse would escalate from him grabbing her wrist to eventually him choking her. She was forced to stop coming over when he grabbed her hand and pried her finger backwards and snapped it. Then she got her mom involved to handle the exchanges and her mom could only handle going over there for that about times 3 times before she gave up to.

The police finally got involved only after the dude essentially kidnapped their daughter. She went over there to pick up her kid, the dude wouldn't let her leave, and told my coworker to kick rocks. The guy could only stand to be around his daughter for a week before he called and asked for my coworker to come and get her. When she did she discovered that the daughter had a broken arm. It caused a huge scene that spilled out into the streets and the police finally arrested the dude.

Read a bit more into this. Apparently the guy wasnt a stranger and she waited until the guy won custody before she claimed she was raped many many years previously. Dude is also claiming she was 17 at the time which would have been legal age of constant if true. Whole thing is a fucking mess. Anyone that thinks they know the full story here is lying.

The police not investigating the rape when it was bought up are scum as well. How do you not investigate a reported rape? Or maybe they did and found she was 17 so there was no case if it was rape based on her being underage rather than a lack of consent? Like I said whole thing is a mess of he said she said.

The judge and rapist both deserve to die, as well as anyone else complicit in allowing this to happen.
