The Tower of Luna started up again in PriConne today, and it kicked my ass on the first day. I struggled with floor 271 (the first new floor added), slipped up and lost my main team on floor 276, and then was only able to barely limp into the boss floor on floor 280 with my last few characters before getting fully wiped. In better news, double normal drops also started today, and I already got a few of my characters that were stuck on 13-5 or 13-6 up to the max of 14-3. Take advantage and get your characters to the recommended rank (or as close as possible) while you can.

@Tennousu Since you started PriConne recently, I just wanted to let you know: double normal drops events like this are definitely a time where it's worth spending gems to do 3-6 stamina refills a day (beyond 6 they get too costly) for extra grinding. The equipment grind can get pretty painful in the later ranks, so events like this are a blessing.

I made that image my splash screen background. I like that this game allows you to do that with event scenes and loading screens. Azur Lane could use a similar feature.

RIP entered Tower of Luna and got bullied at 17th floor (and that's with borrowing someone's Makoto).

Oh well. Gearing up I guess.

Started Arthury Garr. Pulled supposedly the best 4* in the game, Alice. It's the same gameplay as E7 in a lot of different ways tbh, and yeah it's pretty obvious why she's good. She's the same as A. Lots in E7, which will be immediately obvious what makes her good.

I also pulled Ginga, who's supposedly an early-mid game monster that helps your end game gear building.

I think it's a bit clumsy of a game in a few ways compared to how clean E7 was. But obviously this game has good shit like mapping your autos and skipping animations. But it also still has several bad things about E7 that sucked ass, so I dunno

Decided to drop Azur Lane.

Just too much grinding and gameplay I don't find interesting.

I saw Kim Hana and that she was pretty good, so I pulled for her. 40 SSR-less pulls later I just Googled Counterside pull for operators, only to see the first result be a YT video titled something along the lines of DO NOT PULL FOR OPERATORS :<

Then more digging on prydwen said not to pull for operators if youre F2P or even a dolphin. Le sigh :((

I pulled like 40 on operators and got 0 5*s kek. Yeah it's pretty bad, but I stopped caring about playing optimally on any games.

At least the game hands out pulls like candy. I don't think the shitty operators are flat out not useful either

Arbury Geat is basically E7 copy in so many ways. I'm honestly kinda confused.

So like... they give away the ninja chick, who's basically Vildred, essentially a unit that's supposed to carry you through early game with fast clears. They give away that 4* red healer chick who is literally Destina from E7. Alice is A. Lots. I don't remember which unit gave team-wide atk/spd buff but I have that chick who's a 5*. The speed stat and such work in the exact same way down to the base speed and speed sets.

Heck, like majority of the sets are even exactly the same as E7 from the hp/atk/crit/eff/effres/speed etc and counter as well as immunity sets to boot.

I can't find the PVP option yet cuz I haven't played that much but I can easily tell it's gonna be some weird arms race (many times coming down to who got luckier with their speed stats) that E7 ended up being. I'm just glad the ML pulls in E7 aren't in this game...

I'm getting horror or war flashbacks or something or another, but I'm also slightly enjoying it a bit. But early gearing vibes not too great tbh cuz like 10 runs basically landed me like a single piece that I dunno if I'll use in the long run

Edit: even simplifying the gearing for myself doesn't make it any easier. I refuse to undergo a second coming of Genshin's artifact.

Yeah, I remember from the CBT that everyone is a carbon copy of a E7 character. There isnt anything about the game that doesnt scream E7.

I guess it's cuz I played E7 for like a year and a half or so and been highly involved in all their stupid conspiracies. Trust me, a ton of characters are just straight up E7 characters, maybe slightly modified in some minor ways

The Destina copy has like 7 or so more base speed, I guess, but the 113 (A.Lots had 112, which cuz this game also does the annoying +-5% CR, basically the same thing) speed is the same from the A. Lots copy to the original, same goes for what I now remember to be the Rose copy in Quinn, 150% base crit dmg as well as the 15% base crit chance, Ginga being a Surin copy, but instead of bleed, it's some zappy thing that's literally bleed under a different name.

I could literally go on forever tbh, but there are notable differences. Auto battle is obviously significantly better, and the equipment enhancement is more player friendly. But the RNG aspect of armor sets is exactly the same as in E7. Even with all the convenience, the cap on how good your gears are is highly dependent on luck. There seems to be some stat passing mechanic that is also nice, but I haven't tried them yet. That's another thing that E7 didn't exactly have in the same way, though they eventually also offered some stat mod type thing.

Also the Speed stat and the CR mod is the exact same formula to what E7 uses, which means that speed will also be the most important stat in this game.

I'm also currently letting it auto the Hunt equivalent of this game to get gears. The stat leap you get from getting great gears is pretty much the end all be all in this game. If you're stuck, you just do hunt over and over. That's also literally just what E7 was tbh. But this game doesn't quite have all the fun shit E7 had in its mid-late stage, though that could easily change in the future.

Oh, and the game also has its Phantasm equivalents, which are basically fodders to up the stars of your units. The 3 stars can fuse other 3 stars to up the fodders to 4 stars, etc. The exact same as how E7 did it. But E7 had phantasms from 2 stars, and as far as I can tell, this game doesn't offer 2 stars even as fodders. This is a small save in time I suppose.

Also Counterside's Ep 5 story was quite good, though it drags in the first act, and imo you can kinda skim it or skip it to get to the good stuff. 2nd Act and on are fairly action filled and relevant. Shiyoon turns out to be a great character overall, and it made me wanna pull for Replacer Bishop.

Also if you played the Awoken Hilda side story event thing, well it has relevance to this. Also highly recommended to play the Orca side story b4 diving into this Ep cuz she appears quite a bit, and you'll be confused as to who this chad named Eddie was unless you play her story.

In all fairness a lot of games have stuff like RNG-dependent gear, star up fodder, etc., though. The stat-passing is good, but I would've liked if you could choose which stats to transfer instead of it being them all.

But yes, everyone says speed meta is the thing to go for.

Soul Burn was replaced by the tech tree for each character though. Since once you do their third upgrade they have one move that's permanently enhanced, instead of having to choose when to use it in fights. I don't think those little support guys are really comparable to guardians since you can get them out a lot easier and they cause much less of an impact than guardians.

I have enough materials to craft an SSR ship in Counterside. I was thinking Lake Superior since I'm having a lot of trouble with that Britria raid asshole that just kills me after I do 0.2% damage and it looks like a good ship focused on preventing damage.

I just leveled up my ship and it can take the lightning like a champ now. Granted, its an SSR from the pick a ship ticket that was in a pack I bought, but before leveling it, it was squishy enough to die in a few hits just like the Coffin.

I saved up for a long time and redid the entirety of dive to get to my 2nd SSR ship. I took the big risk and went New Ohio as my first ship into New Detroit as my 2nd. God that was a painful grind, but I'm happy I got there.

Yeah New Detroit is one of the best ships in the game, but you have to plan for it because it's really difficult to make, as making a fairly mediocre New Ohio is required. That's probably why people recommend Enterprise first.

But New Detroit, even just looking at the stats only, clearly has like way higher cap than Enterprise. Enterprise is better for select levels that do a lot of stuns and such but for everything else, New Detroit is so much better, to the point where guides say you should one day build 2 of it.

New Detroit was definitely on my list and thankfully Enterprise doesn't use the same materials as New Ohio so I'm really only set back by special schematics which aren't that hard to get because you can infinite farm conversion tickets.

I might still pick up Lake Superior some day since it's just such a super tanky ship that I'm sure there's a niche it can fit in

Enterprise is great in almost all content, whereas New Detroit is great in Danger Close (you eventually want 2 New Detroits in order to use it on both bosses), good in some Shadow Palace floors and not very useful anywhere else. It's also good for one specific PvP set-up. Unless there was a buff for it that I don't know about.
