The plot is a bunch of lads are stuck in deep-space alone 3 million years in the future but they want a curry. So they go back in time to get one, but accidentally foil the assassination of JFK in doing so.

This creates an alternate timeline where JFK being alive fucks up the entire world. So they have go back in time again and kill him.

When they sent the episodes to the American censors they told them to take special note of this one as there might be culturally offensive content in there for Americans the writers didn't intend.

The censors came back and said "Yeah we can't air this."

Why?

Because of a joke where they unwitting eat a man. A robot cooked them dinner and made it out of a corpse he found. The FCC said they can't have cannibal jokes on day time TV. So they had to cut out that scene.

Then it was fine to air. So assassinating JFK was fine, the censors didn't give a fuck about that but cannibalism jokes is no good to quote Sonic.

Yup

I love the part where Kryten explains that is where the shooting originated from then he sees the depository logo on the boxes next to him. The expression on his face is priceless XD

EDIT: Also the cut scene in question must have varied by channel. It was intact when airing on PBS.

I think it's the only episode from Season 7 and 8 that felt on par with Season 1 - 6

I don't really count the post 8 stuff.

The later stuffs pretty good imo but season 6 is definitely the best season.

We train young men to drop fire on people. But their commanders won't allow them to write 'fuck' on their airplanes because it's obscene.
