It's a really good SMT game but it does a lot of things I don't like as much as the first Majin Tensei.

The music is still pretty bangin', there's a lot of diverse units to use, and the cutscene graphics are really good. But at the same time, the gameplay graphics are much worse than the 1st game lol, the game is really hard and throws some infuriating scenarios at you (ie: like having to zigzag around an enclosed map while 5 demon snipers you cant reach keep shooting you), and worst of all the game moves very slooooooooow. The AI takes forever to calculate moves and turns can take up to 2 minutes before completing...in maps where it can easily take 50+ turns to beat it.

I'm enjoying it, but there's a lot that they dropped the ball on >_>

Yeah, I watched video of both games years ago, and noted how the first game had these large and detailed battle sprites that I think was unique to each demon, but the second one had much smaller sprites and leaned more heavily into them being palette-swaps.

Yeah, these games are......old lol. It took me forever to finish the 1st game. But in the end I really liked it.
